This is unprecedented. He hasn't even given access to a WH Press Corp yet.

The fact that you think one dinner is indicative of "less press access" is astounding.

I've already explained that he hasn't even assembled a press corp yet, which is a reversal of modern presidential norms. It isn't about the dinner, and this line of argumentation is intellectually dishonest.

It's been a week you idiot. There has only been one president in this current age of social media/instant info available all the time.

What the hell "norms" are you even talking about? The man spent the whole weekend in his home. What "access" would the press corp have gotten in that time? "Breaking: Trump finally gets to shite in own bathroom, presumptively spends time with family"

Jesus Christ you people are hysterical

Sorry Hallie. Train is full.

The beautiful thing is that the American people don't believe anything the press spits out about Trump anymore. They have no leverage. What are they gonna threaten him with? Are they gonna "go after him"? The harder they try, the more wins Trump gets.

And you people are celebrating the erosion of one of the cornerstones of democratic governance. Shame on you.

If you have been paying attention to the media as I have since back in '65, there is no way you can defend the actions of the media since 2008 with the way they "report" the news nowadays.

Just the fact that arguments today are geared 50% towards politics and 50% towards media should tell you something. But hey, hardheadedness has its drawbacks.

A press corp? Seriously, isn't a fricking cornerstone of democratic governance.

You are shitting your pants because Trump had dinner without inviting CNN. Try to have some perspective. This is embarrassing for you.

24/7 access to the President is not a cornerstone of democratic governance. The media as we know it hasn't even existed for half a century. And even if you are dumb enough to believe that former Presidents allowed such access, again, it's been one week and the transition hasn't even properly begun. What "access" are you wanting, that he hasn't given?

But alas, another liberal with no historical perspective? I'm SHOCKED, I tell you.

And I think it is embarrassing for you. I also think somebody should tell you guys that because you're fricking nuts celebrating the decline of the press.

It's not about 24/7 access, it is about access throughout the transition process, which Trump is denying.

Still waiting for that quiz. I'm something of a history buff so I would welcome it.
