Have you lost any friends over the election?

I have not yet but I fear I may have to lose one soon here. I tried to be nice to the people I know and care for who voted for Hillary. I didn't brad about the election, didn't rub it in their face, didn't even try to say that Trump was a perfect candidate, tried to emphasize that I don't agree with everything he's done but that after deep introspection that he was the better candidate. Of course none of that seems to matter to these people.
Now given, family or long time friends are off limits. I'll disagree with them but I would not cease to be friends with them. With that said, I do have one friend of mine who I play tennis with and we've been friends for a little over a year. The day after the election she was freaking out about Trump's victory, calling the people who voted for Trump racists, bigots, uneducated, ignorant, uncultured, all the typical names. She was stunned when I told her I voted for Trump and was saddened and ask how I could do it. She seemed to accept it, but when we played tennis Friday night she definitely still seemed off and much more distant than usual. Then on Saturday she calls on a tirade talking about how she just saw a racist white Trump supporter tell a black family that they are going to have to move back and how they aren't as good as whites. She basically then called all Trump supporters racist and said she wanted to remind me what I just voted for. She also said she planned to do this every time she saw this type of outright racism by Trump supporters.
Now at this point I haven't talked to her since then, honestly because I didn't see it until early today. My plan is to just ignore the message, not even grace it with a response, still be kind and then when I see her at tennis on Wednesday to not even mention it. If she does try to do it again though I plan on telling her that I will not discuss any political topics with her. If she continues on after that then sadly I may have to re-evaluate our friendship and if I want that friendship to continue in the future.
Have any of you all had to face this type of decision after the election? Have friends who supported Hillary tried to guilt trip you in this fashion? I'm honestly thinking at this point that with the Democrats acting so vile that unless I'm already friends with you that I could honestly never make a new friendship with a Democrat. Do you feel the same way at times? Would someone's political views affect if you want to be friends with them?

Not yet. A couple people from high school that I haven't seen in 20 years are pretty close to being unfollowed.
I have one friend that I respect even though he's a huge liberal, but since the election he's been posting all the bs about Trump supporters attacking minorities and such. I'm biting my tongue hoping he doesn't push too hard though.

I am cutting some people out or they are cutting me I don't know
The liberal unwillingness to see to sides of an argument basically lumps you in as dumb or racist. If that's your thought I don't have time for you.

What I got out of this is that you play tennis with a chick and you haven't slept with her yet. Wondering if it's worth the effort
Amirite?

I actually, IMO, lost an uncle over this election. A man who I thought was rational and logical became a blithering idiot to the point that he accused my own father of racism. He accused his own brother. Someone he knew for 50+ years. He accused him of racism.
Personally, I would like to think I am above petty arguments and would move on if he apologizes, but if I'm honest, deep down all I truly feel can be summed up in only a few words.
That smug, egotistical hypocrite can go frick himself.

LOL I'm not friends with any Hillary supporters.
Of course I know some, but we aren't close enough for politics to get in the way of our minimal aquantance.

Every November sister in law and I rent a home in Fort Morgan. We each pay for two weeks rental. She stays the entire month and we usually go for the last ten days including Thanksgiving. She and her friends (all ex-school teachers, none married) are staunch democrats. After the election she called my wife and told her it would probably be best if we did not go to Fort Morgan this year and she will reimburse me for the two weeks I paid. My wife is also a big time Democrat but I think she is laughing harder about this than I am.

Not friends with any SJW liberal . Most of my friends that are liberal aren't that political. Couple of work people are upset but not to this extreme

quote:
I don't agree with everything he's done
I grow tired of pro-Trump people prefacing their opinion with that line. I hear it so much on the news. Why start of with an apology? Do Hillary or Obama supporters apologize for their candidates' frick ups?

I strenuously avoid talking about politics IRL.

Actually lost a girlfriend over it. That said, the pussy wasn't that great anyway and it was getting time to move on. I was just surprised how emotional she got about me voting for Trump. I'll take a brief break, relish our political victory, and then re-open snatch season.

No I don't post anything political and those that do I just "unfollow" so we are still friends

If you have lost friends over politics then you weren't friends anyway

I just had people from the left who accused me of voting for trump when I said I wasn't voting for hillary when I didn't vote for him. I also had people on the right who accused me of voting for hillary when I said I wasn't voting for trump but I didn't vote for her either. As a conservitive I'm happy the republican party won but I'm not happy at all with the candidate we nominated as president. For example I love lsu football but I hated les miles who was the head coach. I'm not the type to hate or stop talking to somebody just because of who they elected as president and I respect all my friends on who they voted for. I hope they will do the same for me.

I literally just lost a client today.
Wasn't big, but she is an artist/wedding planner and an avowed SJW, African-American activist as well.
She posted three things about Bannon being an "avowed White Supremicist", I openly questioned her on the factual situation, she and her friends lost it, she called me this evening and said we could no longer do business.
Not a huge loss, and I figured it might be an outcome of the questioning, but this outcry from the left about race at every corner is really beginning to get under my skin.....AND I HAVE A MINOR IN AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDIES.
