Why do dems have to paint the republican electorate as evil?

I don't think the democratic electorate is evil. I think they are, for the most part, horribly misguided, but not evil by and large. It doesn't seem many think they are.
I think plenty of elected democrats are and a good number of republicans as well, but I never feel the need to truly demonized the opposing electorate.
Why is there such an overarching need for democrats to do otherwise? Do you really go about everyday under the assumption that such a large number of people in this country you are interacting with are simply horrible human beings? I just can't imagine how depressing that must be.

Both sides demonize each other equally. To try to claim otherwise is absurd. Just listen to Rush or turn on Fox any time over the last 8 years, particularly in the days right after the election, and you would hear and see all kinds of craziness.

Many of the dims are evil. Quite a few more are just stupid and want the gubment to take care of them.

the majority don't
and lets not pretend that the this board doesn't demonize the dems with the "they want to destroy the white male" rhetoric

Because they are too naïve to understand that there are people in this world that have different opinions than their own. They just can't understand how someone can possibly think differently than they do. So they automatically label that person as evil. It makes them feel better about themselves and more superior to the opposition. They'll never take the time to try and understand the others point of view.

If you ready this board daily you'll realize that most hard righters on here do think the democratic electorate is evil.
Moral of the Story: The fringe of the left and right are equally shameful and harmful to the Country. Its when the fringes gain real power (Nazi Germany, Old USSR, etc) do truly bad things actually happen.

Correct. But huge national media outlets are suggesting the literal KKK elected Trump. Hillary said at least half his voters were "deplorables." Where's the mainstream comparison to something similar towards the democratic electorate.
