Swanson isnt going anywhere

Braves should do it...
Top of rotation with Archer and Julio will keep them in a lot of games. I wouldn't deal Darby but others sure.

You could maybe talk me in to Newcomb and Acuna as the headliners. I don't know if I would love it, but I think it would be a pretty fair deal.
Acuna likely will be ranked 60ish on the top 100 lists that come out this winter, but he is a future top 20 guy in the game in all likelihood. Newcomb has dropped from top 25 overall last winter to borderline top 100, but still checks every box you look for in a TOR arm. The inability to throw strikes consistently is very strange though with his delivery.
He is also the only arm that is not 2-3 years away.

That would absolutely not be a fair deal, in fact Rays management would hang up the phone laughing IMO.
Chris Archer is already a good to very good pitcher who is young and EXTREMELY cheap while being under control until 2021.
Braves probably won't deal Swanson, but Albies and more would likely have to be included.

Archer has an amazing contract and with club options is signed to 2021. I don't think he is getting moved unless the Rays get blown away by an offer.

I think a lot depends on how Acuna is valued by different teams, but as I've looked in to the Archer market you are probably correct that that wouldn't get it done. I had forgotten about those massive asks in the talks with Boston at the deadline.
I don't think Albies is on the table either, it wouldn't make sense to worsen the ML team if you are paying massive for a guy like Archer.
Anderson, Newcomb, Acuna, Touki, Fried, Smith, Blair, maybe? That doesn't make any sense at all for the Braves, as they've spent 2+ years stockpiling massive minor league depth, but I think that is close to getting it done, no?

Fact is if the Braves can acquire Archer without giving up Dansby they must do it.

I think Albies gets moved this offseason in a big deal for a pitcher like Archer. His value is maximized at SS and the Braves can find someone to fill the 2b spot.

Baseball Prospectus just released their Braves top 10
Same top 10 as me but different order. Surprised most by Soroka and Fried's placements. Maitan gets a 60 grade as the #8 prospect in the system.
I think Maitan is probably my most untouchable guy.
Also interesting that some people within the industry are starting to value Acuna over Albies. As I said, I think he is a big, big piece and would not be surprised if Rays preferred him over Albies either.

Rank. Player (Potential Grade/Likely Grade)
1. Dansby Swanson, SS (70/60)
2. Ronald Acuna, CF (70/55)
3. Ozzie Albies, 2B (60/55)
4. Sean Newcomb, LHP (60/55)
5. Mike Soroka, RHP (60/55)
6. Kolby Allard, LHP (60/50)
7. Ian Anderson, RHP (60/50)
8. Kevin Maitan, INF (--/60)*
9. Touki Toussaint, RHP (60/50)
10. Max Fried, LHP (55/45)
*Deemed too far away for a potential grade, but was unanimous top player signed by any team in amateur free agency. Never played a professional season.

I would definitely trade Darby for Archer. All day in fact.

Not really hard to see why with Albies being a super high floor guy and Acuna potentially being a true 5 tool RF if the power continues to develop. I'm pretty stoked to see how he does next year in high A (and hopefully AA later).
We'd be extremely dumb to trade Acuna (or any of our top 4 hitting prospects).

Archer kind of got shelled this year. Not a fan
