Reliable vet who will eat up a lot of innings and then move out of the way when some of the young guys are ready. I'm okay with it as long as we didn't pay too much.

It is only a one year deal with a club option for next year. We just need him to eat innings and keep us from burning through our bullpen. He will give us time to not rush our young starting pitchers up.

According to MLB.com Chris Sale or Jose Quintana with the White Sox could be a target.

Good move, guy is reliable as an innings eater. Move back to the NL may help and he's not that far removed from a good 2nd half in 15. Like the idea of him and Folty back to back..

Also hope that having a knuckleballer closes the door on the McCann talk...he's always been an absolute butcher behind the plate,
And his bat no longer makes up for it.

I like it. I think he'll see a bit of a rebound coming back to the NL and he'll be able to eat innings

Sandy Koufax has three...plus he's a lefty....

Jk. I like these two signings very much. Reasonably priced vets with good track records for eating innings.

Potential midseason trade candidates if some of the youngsters step up.

I like the Dickey signing, but I'm not certain on Colon. 1yr/$12.5m per MLBTR.

I would rather then get a bit more aggressive and get a proven young starter with control. I get not blocking your young arms but their combined ages are 85...
