Do you bring your child to your place of employment?

I've noticed on numerous occasions people bring their children to the office and you can hear the children all the way down the hall. It has to be pretty distracting.
It's one thing if you can't afford to or have a family member watch your child when they are off of school, but it's another when you let your child be a distraction to the rest of the office.
Who is to blame for this? The parents or management?

With the recent flood activity, many day cares are closed. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

My mom was a dentist when she still worked and took me up there all the time during the summer because the country club was a mile or so from the office and a friend from school's parents owned a jewelry store near her office and we would hang out when we were like 10.
Granted, it was my mom's office so maybe that's different.

Under certain circumstances sure, but this isn't in BR.
Just in general.

like all day? no
I've brought her to the office for like and hour before, but she just sat quietly in a chair and read a book or played games on the iPad

I've never seen this happen here.

I've worked places where the managers would bring their school-age children to sit around the office and do their homework while the parents finished their day. No small kids on a regular basis.
I snuck my kid into my office a couple of times when he was a toddler and too sick to go to daycare.

it's kind of the law under certain conditions, Clinton(Bill,) started that shite, there was a day care center for Federal employee's kids in the Building McVeigh took down

See this would be fine, but when they're in the office all day running down the halls and whining/crying all day. You could see how this could be distracting.
So should the parents be to blame for this or should management step up and do something?

It can be obnoxious. Some of my old coworkers used to do it. One even brought their dog.
I understand doing it for rare circumstances or emergencies. Having kids running wild or yelling in the office once a week is just unprofessional.

I borrow my niece so the hot girls will hang out in my office.

Several of our people do when they need to. Their kids usually sit in their offices and read or play on their iPads or watch a movie. Not that big a deal.

I've used that technique in the past, with quite a bit of success

On rare occasions when school is out or has early dismissal and can't line up a babysitter.

I bring her some coloring books, books to read, and ipad to give her something to do. Keeps her occupied and quiet for the most part.

Both. Parents need to get the kids to behave, but management should step in and tell them if the kid can't sit quietly without disturbing everyone else that they can't bring the kid to the office anymore.

We're a family oriented company, so there are kids around all the time. It's in our corporate culture to encourage our families to be involved with what we do and the kids are well behaved and don't disrupt our work.
Not a problem.
Not a problem.

One lady brings her dog every time she gets groomed, once a month. She goes and gets her at lunch and she roams the whole building all afternoon.

I like dogs more than people so I'm cool with that.
