Oculus, Vive, or PSVR?
Is it still just a ton of demo games?

Granted, most of my info on this is from listening to Giant Bomb, but this seems to be the consensus. There might be a game or two that you would consider a full blown game, but the vast majority of what's offered is just mini-game'ish. Playing Battlefield and GTA games on it solely just isn't a reality yet.

I was gifted a PSVR and it's pretty sweet. Best games are Thumper and Rez for it, Batman is pretty good as well just short. All in all its awesome tech but games just are not there yet. Hopefully it gets better with time, already hear Fallout and Doom VR from Bethesda are amazing so as long as stuff is coming it will be good. Apparently attach rates with games are very high on VR so that will probably attract developers.

I have a Vive, what would you like to know?
Pr0n is amazing yet strange.
It's mostly just testing games. Minecraft is a ton of fun though.

buddy just snagged a PSVR recently and I tried it out this weekend. He only has the demo games currently, but I got to play a racing game and then some creepy arse horror fps. It was awesome.
I saw him play the demo for Eve Valkyrie and that looked like a lot of fun. It's really tough to tell how fun it is though when you're watching someone else play it on the tv instead of actually experiencing the VR.
My girlfriend played Thumper and she seemed to really enjoy it. It made her want to look into purchasing the VR system.

Wouldn't mind a vive or oculus for flight sim's or racing. I normally jump on new technology, but sitting this out until I hear more.

So Batman VR sucks?
from the videos i've seen, i wouldn't say that the actual gameplay sucks. it's just that it's an hour long or so. that's what sucks.

I'm looking into getting a VR system for the comp. Just upgraded to a 1070GTX.
I've been playing Subnautica (early release) that is VR ready. I'd love to see that game in VR.
Has anybody tried it in VR by chance?

I was going to get a PSVR until Grand Turismo was announced that the whole game is not VR compatible.

OT, but my cousin is working on a 'business venture' that uses cameras and VR headsets to race RC cars around indoor tracks... got to participate in his first test run last night and it was pretty badass TBH
Sorry, don't want to derail your thread but didn't want to start my own

Several really really good VR racing games for the Vive and Oculus that are just as good as Previous Grand Turismos and more realistic as well.

There are some utterly amazing experiences out there right now (Arkham: VR, Rigs, and EVE: Valkyrie come to mind), but the days of a true AAA title with a fully fleshed story and 100% immersive VR is still a little ways off.
Right now, they're still trying to figure out what works, what doesn't, and what new styles of games might lend themselves really well to the immersion of VR.
Ain't gonna lie, though, the first time you're playing Arkham:VR and realize that the video screen you're looking at with Batman on it is really a mirror and you're seeing your reflection or when you find yourself in EVE pulling a spacecraft into a turning fight while keeping your eyes trained on your target, you instantly see the potential of what could be just around the corner.
It's just not quite around that corner yet and still very much in the first adopter stage. It's a $1000 risk you're taking on whether we get around that corner with this generation of equipment. I suspect we will and we'll know one way or the other in the next few months, so the wait shouldn't be that long if you don't want to take the plunge now.

I have a gear vr. It's pretty neat, but I wouldn't have purchased it. It was worth it for free.

Played an Oculus quite a bit. Most games are just mingames still, but the technology is the real deal. It's not gimmicky, it actually feels like the future of gaming

I broke down and went and bought PS VR yesterday. I got Batman Arkham VR and Job Similator bc the kids insisted.
Batman VR was one of the coolest and immersive gaming experiences I've ever had in my life. There are a few moments that really make you feel like you are batman. Actually the entire game does but there's one or two parts where you walk by a mirror and it's unreal to have batman looking back at you in full suit and moving 1:1, it's honestly like a real mirror.
There are a few other parts with the Joker that are just incredible. Batman is THE game for VR right now and shows what VR can and will be IMO. It's true it's damn short but it's certainly worth the $20. When I demo the VR to people that come over, it will be Batman. There are a few OMG moments playing it.
Job simulator is ridiculously fun as well. It's funny and there's something about taking the swingline red stapler from office space, making a copy of it on the copy machines, and putting a stapler in both hands and fire staples across cubicles hitting robots
The "story" is pretty funny as well, robots rule the world and humands are regulated to shitty jobs like store clerk, office worker, chef, etc and you serve robots.
After playing 2 days of PSVR, I'm convinced this is the future of gaming. I'[ve been skeptical for a while but the PS VR system is a perfect price point for an intro into VR and the PS4 is all you need to run it. Sony was smart investing in this.
I'm excited now for the Final Fantasy 15 VR missions and Resident Evil 7 with full VR mode and future games that are going to take advantage of the tech.
I will say, after seeing that Minecraft is on Oculus, I really hope they are able to port minecraft VR over to PS4, I can just see how minecraft would be the ultimate VR game and I'm hoping they bring it over. Seems like it was built to be a VR game.

Do you need an entire room to play VR?
Posted on 11/11/16 at 8:16 am to HailToTheChiz
for the PSVR you need a little space, I'd say around 6' x 3' area to be exact. You can take one step in either direction and maybe 1-2 steps forwards and backwards and that's what these two games have confined me to. I know that both also support "sitting" modes where you can just sit in a chair and play them too. The full experience though is standing for sure.

PSVR is legit ..after playing 3 days of it, I'm convinced
