it seems like just a bunch of dip shite millennial writers that try to make every article as dramatic as possible.

and most of the sports articles are worthless

I was just telling my bro recently that Simmons' biggest fanboys on the message boards are destroying him and have lost interest, in part due to the political talk. My bro couldn't understand because he is a bit of a libtard. He thought Simmons is staying pretty neutral.

Outside of his Cousin Sal podcast (which is only good cause of Sal) everything else he does now is pretty terrible. His show is as interesting as the guest is.

His show sucks also and podcast has gone downhill. He's pretty much mailed it in after getting the big HBO money.

He wrote a great article about LeBron before the NBA season and showed that he's still an entertaining read. I'm rooting for his TV show ratings to continue to bomb so that he will be forced to come back and write some more. Articles & Podcasts = Good, TV Show & Running the Ringer = Bad.

He's a clown.

Dude made a career on delving into rumors and hearsay, particularly NBA gossip. Yet he decides to be critical of people trying to analyze KD's move to GS, his influences, etc.

Still laugh about him continually ripping OKC over the Harden trade because he killed them equally when they originally drafted Harden. Weak...

Even the cousin sal podcast have been terrible because he rushes the lines so he can squeeze in a 30 minute Guest to talk about the NBA

Its almost like they want to the headline to try and convince you spending time reading an article about movies or sports is worth your time.

Even at the height of Grantland, reading some of the material on music or movies gave me douche chills.

He really wants to be 25 forever. Instead of accepting his age he just hired shitty 25 year old writers so he could try to stay hip

i don't understand them bringing politics into it. i quit listening to their podcasts because it just became too much. they are running off a segment of their audience.

Great timing for this thread. I was reading Clay Travis mailbag earlier and wondering if Simmons still did his. Simmons actually knew how to do a lengthy and worthwhile mailbag article.

Have there been any reports on how successful the whole Ringer venture has been? I was all in when it first started, but then I quickly lost interest in the website and articles. They all just seemed like a lot of words that resulted in saying a whole lot of nothing. Then I got tired of the podcasts, especially the NBA one. So, I was just wondering if there are actual numbers that allign with our opinions that site that it is struggling.

I think the only article he's written the past couple months was a big "Lebron is good at basketball" article

Way to really go after the big stories bill.

I assume they're referring to the usage of Andrew Miller in the postseason. But that headline still wouldn't be right. A revolution would imply something completely new. Not just going back to the way relievers were used before the save became a stat.

It's a "pseudo-intellectual" version of SBNation at this point. The content is mediocre but thinks its better than that with a pretentious left leaning slant .

His show is epically bombing. Getting horrible ratings. Harder to tell on the website, but it certainly doesn't seem to have as much buzz as Grantland did and that was ultimately a financial loser.

His TV show is horrible. That needs to be put out of it's misery. The problem with the Ringer is the quality of writers there. There is no Zack Lowe or Jonah Keri on the writing staff. The Ringer is the Grantland leftovers other sites did not want to hire plus a bunch of way to green writers. I am sure some great writers will emerge eventually from the website but they are not there yet in terms of quality. The politics stuff is just awful.
