2 weeks to prepare late in the season?

Hasn't really done it all year.

Veteran defense.

I can see it happening.

I'm sure they will mix it up but I don't think blitzing would be the best strategy to stop Hurts.

They will need to play contain to keep him from scrambling and keep tight coverage on Ridley, Stewart and OJ Howard.

Keep him in the pocket. He's most dangerous on the run. Make him beat us with his arm if he can.

No he will keep hurts in the pocket and force him to throw to beat us.

I hope not because blitzing a running QB is a good way to get beat. We need to have Key and Neal ready to contain the edges.

Aranda is going to have Hurts' head spinning with the way he disguises coverages.

Key will come at him like a fast zombie on a brains diet. And while they're trying to stop that, Neal's gonna take a bite out of his head like an apple.

I agree with LSU defense playing contain against Bama. I don't think their rbs are great this year, let LSUs secondary do work and blitz when needed. If LSU can shut down OJ Howard and Ridley (hard to do but it's possible) its up to the LSU offense this game.

Just need to handle him the same way we handled Johnny Goofball. Develop a stout pocket he can't get out of, blanket coverage on the receivers, and bring the delayed blitz up the middle.

I'm not sure about blitzing but this defense is hitting it's stride.

That little mickey mouse offense has gotten them an undefeated season this year and a championship last year.

I'd blitz some, but let Duke Riley stay back as a spy on Hurts so he doesn't scramble.

Tell me which defense did they score all these points on? Look at ours since O has taken over I bet we are even higher

Riley has to cover so it would be Beckwith and you would want Beckwith spying anyway much better tackler.

The Ole Miss game is a good model for what they will do. They did a pretty good job of keeping Kelly contained most of the game. The big pressure came later after their OT went down, but he didn't have multiple huge runs like he has had against some other teams.

I think we will put 7-8 in the box (when possible) to contain the run, and try to press their WRs to make Hurts have to wait to release the ball on pass plays. Also, I wouldn't expect a ton of blitzing, but I do expect to see more pre-snap movement and disguising coming out of the bye week. Aranda is going to throw the kitchen sink at this kid to see if he can force a few mistakes.

I think you'll see more stunts than blitzes. Aranda is also very good at only sending 4 but making it where you don't know which 4 are coming.
