Does your company plan to raise salaries to the new minimum? Or just pay those employees overtime?

Any other changes taking place because of this?

How are people reacting and what are their opinions?

I'd rather just put in 44-45 hours and not have to worry about staying under 40.

My wife's business has one salaried employee that makes under that amount by about $4k. We will bring that person up to the limit.

How does this system work?

Say you got a job out of college that is paying $30K a year on a salary. Are you now eligible for overtime?

This doesn't affect me, but in general I think it's a reform long overdue. A lot of low level management types getting shafted over the years.

In my company we have 4 people that will be affected by this new rule. We are keeping them at salary but making them clock in/out each day so we can keep track of their hours. All OT needs to be pre-approved so we're not too concerned about people taking advantage of OT. It will be something that we keep track of and adjust accordingly.

Our IT guy is mad. He is being made hourly and will lose some benefits as a result.
