No as a culture, we just like to gamble. I don't go to the casino thinking I'm great at math nor has anyone I've known thought that.

Asians are heavy gamblers around here. Heavy baccarat play. I call the bac tables "little asia". They even pick Asian servers just for the section. That's their only section and they have to have heavy Asian looks, behavior, etc.
The lower class Asian poker players are huge gamblers in my experience. Always play draws hard. Cocky, wordy, and arrogant. The upper class ones are typically engineers or other math-based professionals who play very nitty and mathematical. They are quiet and reserved.

Was at a blackjack table with a mid 20's Asian guy. He was no nonsense, not drinking and concentrating intently on the game. I saw that guy turn about $100 worth of chips into well over $2000 in less than a hour.
You could tell he was counting...he'd bet big at always the right time. Pit boss came over eyeballing him. He gathered his chips and left. It was impressive.
