We quote movies and tv a lot. One of the more frequent sayings is "Hab a nah da" (Have a nice day) from the original episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond.

Still quote "Say Goodnight, Dick" from Dick Martin too.

What are your families long standing traditions?

"You're such a disappointment to your mother and I."

Dad's been saying it for years now.

Don't get mad at your money, get mad at yourself.

I'm still not 100% on what that is supposed to mean.

My wife's family has a few. The weirdest and funniest to me is when my father-in-law is asked by waiters if he needs anything else he sometimes replies "Yeah, bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia." The waiters are usually dumbfounded and its pretty funny. Apparently it was the title of some old cheesy movie he likes.

My father swore a lot. We had an inside joke about when you need something "say the magic words" but not please and thank you. "God dammit" was used.

My pawpaw used to have a mechanic back in the 90s who was as coonass as a coonass could be. One day, my pawpaw, my father and 7 y/o me were in his shop getting something on my pawpaw's truck looked at. My pawpaw says "I think it may be the starter". The mechanic, scratching his brow, simply replies "T'ats what I'm tinkin'".

For the last 19 years, every time my dad or I says something to each other that the other agrees with, it's always a simple reply of "T'ats what I'm tinkin'"

My brother and I do this every day through texts.
When we get together for holidays, my parents have no idea what we are talking about because we are having conversations using movie and tv quotes

Anytime we are at a urinal pissing or take a piss while fishing, "that water is cold" to which the reply is "and deep"

Used to happen as a kid and I didn't understand how it could be cold and deep since my pecker didn't touch the water. I think I was 16 when I finally got it
