Does Anyone Here Use an Amazon Dash Button?

It's a little keychain sized device that you pair with your mobile device to "order products from Amazon at the touch of a button." Apparently, you need one for each product you want to order with such convenience and you have to pay for them (though Amazon does refund your money after you use it to order through them).
Why the hell would anyone want such a stupid thing, much less be willing to shell out money for it? Is it too difficult to order using regular old Amazon?

I'll never understand why they have a Nerf Dash button.

Yes, we have some.
They are effectively free once you buy one order. They work great for items that you don't order on a regular basis. Yes you can just order it off Amazon, but it is much easier to just hit a button when I realize I'm out than have to remember what I need whenever I am next on Amazon.
They've worked perfectly so far.

Dude
I lost nerf darts all the time. After 2 weeks I'd have a machine gun firing two darts without suction cups on them.

There comes a point where convenience just becomes stupid. Enter Amazon Dash.

Why? I see something I need, one button press and it's done. Is there some need to go through a more complicated process?

I have several of them and they are awesome.
Have one stuck on the front of the washing machine for detergent. One in the pantry for paper towels.
Also work great for toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. Seems like they work best for things you can buy in bulk every so often.

I always thought it was dumb but might try it if it were free. Got the dot last week and no way in hell would I try dash now even if it were free.

My friend made fun of me when he saw mine...now he has 10.
I use them for toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing detergent, laundry detergent, zip lock, and garbage bags. I love them. Keep them inside the pantry door. When I need something...just press the button.

I would use if there were very specific buttons. Like if the brand of dog food I use had a button, I'd get it. But last I looked, there was nothing that I really felt we needed all that badly.

I obviously get why Amazon and the brands like it. Basically 100% brand loyalty and you get to convert some Amazon users who might buy competitors' products at the store or online based on price or preference.
What I don't get is why an Amazon user (a site that started as a way to conveniently bargain hunt and find the best deals) is willing to stick these stupid things all over their house just so they can derp along and get things at the push of a button without being able to see what price it is or what the other options are.
Our willingness as a society to welcome point of sale systems into our homes and in many instances pay for them is just astounding to me.

I can cancel the order later if I don't like the price. I only buy them for products where Amazon beats (or is basically equal to) local prices.

I think a major sticking point to his post was the price hike on products. What if one day (Highly unlikely) the same product you've been button mashing for months gets a $2 increase and you unknowingly start spending an extra $2 on a product that you didn't know about. It's that sort of thing that could potentially scare people away.

I have them for a couple items like condoms, TP, and garbage bags. Got to watch out though. The price can randomly change on certain items. for example I was ordering the 36 pack of rubbers for 15$. Then randomly they jacked the price up to north of 20$. bastards trying to take advantage of my overly active sex life
