My dad still shudders at the name Hookfin. He despised him

but Reid play with some absolute playmakers while at LSU and still managed to shine.

This can be argued the other way too.....playing with a loaded backfield sometimes makes it easier for a player to shine......

He had to play corner to get on the field as a freshman.

That was Brandon Taylor. Reid is no corner

Webster was incredible in college, I feel like you have to get him on the field.
-Maybe tyrann and one of Landry/Adams/Reid at safety
-Peterson and Webster boundary and Claiborne nickel (like Arkansas 2011)

Anytime Danny McCray stumbled onto the field, it was either a 20 yd seam route completion with him looking like a baby giraffe or 0 run support with Hellen Keller type tendencies. Still to this day I have no idea how that kid made it to the pros.

I'd take Chad Jones at FS over Reid or Landry.

ETA: Maybe not Landry. It's close between those two.

CB Patrick Peterson
CB T White
FS Eric Reid
SS Jamal Adams

Nickel -Honey Badger
Dime - Ron Brooks

The reason I put Reid instead of Laron is because Landry and Adams are both big hitters and great run support guys. Reid was better in coverage and being the field general on the back end

Landry all day and its by a wide margin.

Landry was suspect in coverage as he was in the pros.

There's no way you have Travis Daniels over Patrick Peterson. Though I did forget about Daniels in my honorable mention list

It was Reid, too. There can be more than one person that had to do that. Like Chad Jones, for instance.

You can totally add Hookfin to that list, he played 2002. Curtis Taylor wasn't a bad safety, but Jack Hunt could be added for coverage value alone.

WTF is all this Eric Reid BS this morning. He was for sure a good player, but he's not in the Top 3 safety discussion at LSU in the past 15 years.... Anybody who takes LSU era Eric Reid over LSU era Laron Landry is a fool.

I do. He and CWebb were quite a tandem.
