Chirizo and eggs...
Literally in my Top 10 funniest comedies of all time.
I quote this movie weekly.
ETA: this movie is part of a group of comedies people have either never seen or forgotten from about basically the same year. I'd also include the Bill Murray directed Quick Change and Albert Brooks' Defending Your Life.

A mostly forgotten classic. The chemistry between Grodin and DeNiro is what makes the movie.
Also, to the audiences of the time, the rival bounty hunter was still the dorky, harmless detective from Beverly Hills Cop. That really added to the humor of it.

As good a buddy comedy as there has ever been. Grodin is an underrated actor, and this is probably his best role. The scenes with just him and Deniro - which is roughly 40 to 50 percent of the film, and more if you want to focus on the substance of the film, are pure cinematic gold.
ETA: Dennis Farina, Yaphet Koto and Joey Pants were fantastic in support of this film as well.

Can I ask you something? These glasses are nice...Are they government issue or did you guys all go to the store together?
One of the best lines in that movie.
My favorite though is this exchange:
10 years for impersonating a federal officer...
10 years? Huh? Why hasn't anyone come after you?

Duke: You ever had sex with an animal Jack? Remember those chickens on the Indian reservation? There were some good looking chickens there Jack. You know, between us...
Jack: Yeah, there were a couple there I might've taken a shot at.

"You and that other dummy better start getting more personally involved in your work, or I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a frickin' pencil. Do you understand me?"

I saw it on a first date with a girl I grew up with right after it came out. We didn't date very long, but stayed good friends. She died of breast cancer 10 years ago. Seeing the picture from this movie makes me think of her laughing her arse off at it. I hadn't thought of her in a while...Thanks for posting it. Miss ya, Cathy. You were pretty freakin awesome.
Now, as for the movie...I loved the chemistry between DeNiro and Groden.

Jonathan Mardukas: Yes! Yes. But you didn't know I was lying to you when you lied to me down by the river. So as far as you knew, you lied to me first!
Jack Walsh: How can I argue with this guy. I don't know what the frick he's talking about.

The sunglass bit in the movie was classic
Mosley : Remember Me?
Walsh : Agent Foster Grant!
Walsh :leaves sunglasses on steering wheel
Mardukas: What's that?
Walsh: inside joke between me an Alonzo
Sunglasses come sliding across counter
Walsh picks them up and looks to see Mosley with a bunch of cops and FBI
Gee, i've been looking all over for these, thanks Alonzo!

There's a great scene in the original Heartbreak Kid (1972), where Grodin is bluffing his way into getting Cybill Shepherd's college boyfriends to walk away from her. He goes into the same "Government Official" mode that he does in the "Litmus Configuration" scene in Midnight Run.

I love it too. I watched the whole thing earlier this month for the first time in a while. It's been showing at least one night a week on one of the Starz channels (comes on at 4:05 am tomorrow) and I've watched some of it every other night.
John Ashton as Marvin is really funny too.

This NSFW offering is just some clips from it for you guys that might not have seen it in a while.

Charles Grodin is great in this movie. I love it.
One of my favorite lines is when they're on the bus and Grodin is rambling on about all his phobias, DeNiro tells him something like, "if you don't shut the frick up, I'm going to give you Fistophobia!"

Always got Midnight Run confused with Midnight Express...I'd always say, "wait, is that the one with the kids in the Turkish prison??"
