Wth does bamas uni's come up for in every uniform thread? It's pathetic really. Gump unis have nothing to do with Lsu. With that said the young players love the different looks. Imo it should be up to them. Personally I like the all whites.

Because we never have an alternate uni. I think they put some barely noticeable houndstooth in the numbers back in 2010 or something. The sporting goods stores couldn't give those away.
Its just us. If folks want to wear alts, thats cool. Some look good. Our feeling is you have a traditional uniform or you dont. By traditional it means you NEVER deviate.

And, by the way, our traditional uniforms are possibly the best looking uniform in the country. And that not just looking at the situation through white jersey and gold pants glasses. Every time "best uniforms" comes up on a program, LSU's white/gold is at or near the top.

Lsu like bama are founding members of the sec. lots of tradition. I get that and both are two of the best looking uni's in football. I still want the players to choose and I'm good with whatever. As long as it's only a few games a year. Younger players love the different looks.

You know...it's funny. For all the love Nick Saban still gets from LSU fans even while he's curb stomping our program yearly, people seem to forget that he brought the purples back into rotation. It was him that came up with the current "tradition" of wearing our gold/white/gold for the first home game of the year, but the purples for all OOC games that fall later/

That's right. Saban was being told on the recruiting trail...by recruits...that they disliked wearing one uniform all the time. This was long before Oregon's shite show of a uniform parade. they were simply telling the guy that they didn't want to wear gold/white/gold EVERY GAME of their careers.
So...he changed it.
And look...I'm as traditional as they come when it comes to uniforms. But, I'm also aware enough to know that while LSU's uniforms SEEM to have remained unchanged for decades, that's just not true. There have been numerous changes, some big and some small since Dietzel gave us the basic uniform we wear to this day.
Rather than complaining about wanting NO change, the smart money should be on implementing small changes, or changes that fit within our color scheme and basic uniform pattern. Keep the UCLA stripes on the helmet, jersey and pants (and make them match dammit) and then use the colors we have. We would still keep our traditional gold/white/gold as the primary but we could use any number of uniforms that would look just as much like LSU as those because they stay within the color and design pattern. The all whites and the white/purple/white we wore last week are perfect examples of staying true our traditional look while giving the payers a few more options.
What most shouldn't want...at least I don't...is some Oregon Nike bullshite where the team wears uniforms that never feel the same and have no connection to any past.

That's why I hate them, and they don't look as good IMHO as the traditional LSU gold/white/gold or the gold/purple/gold.
