You think we needed Miles to recruit those classes?

Yeah he brought in great talent but his coaching and offensive philosophy set the program back.

Nick Saban literally set it up for Miles, that is how good a coach he was. He literally set the thing to coast for 10 years. Miles was in the right place at the right time.

The way the rest of this season plays out will go a long way into how Miles is viewed. If LSU rolls 4 out of the next 5 or better, I don't think anyone can help but view Miles and his buddy as holding the program back.

Nobody said they don't appreciate what he's done over the last 11 years.

On the contrary, lots of posters are incapable of giving him credit for any positive qualities whatsoever. It was time for a change, but the irrationality of the kneejerk amti Miles faction is very obvious. He's gone and they're still talking about him. They'll be talking about him five years from now.

I agree, Miles’s winning record is not due to Miles doing a good job of coaching, because it was very obvious for years that he wasn’t a good coach, but because of LSU instead, which is located right in the heart of one of the greatest Meccas of college football talent in the country, and a lot of that Louisiana talent, but not all of it, will come play for LSU no matter what because they grew up on LSU football.

Indeed, had we had a decent coach as opposed to Miles during the Miles’ tenure, I believe we would have easily won probably one or two more national championships if not more during that same period, and we would have also skipped most of those damn nail biting games. In fact, the last few years it was damn outright boring and aggravating to watch LSU play.

It's really tough to think back right now and find many games where his actual coaching won the game.

This is absolutely false. That's the great thing that Miles brought to the table...the recruiting classes he brought in, even last year amidst all of the bs and rumor mill, was top notch.

Explain what you mean.

He put the program in a 2-4

bullshite.

This program:
- has no major violations
- surrounded himself with a smart coaching staff that is able to immediately make changes upon his (Miles) departure. He might not have taken their advice when in charge, but having good people on staff allowed mid season changes.
- left the cupboard over flowing with talent. Did not effectively use talent, but present/future coaching staff has major tools to work with.
- coached/developed/practiced today's players enough so they are able to quickly respond to the coachs changed. Again, Miles did not properly utilize, but players are ready to implement what the new coaching staff has planned

Let Miles go. It is a bright morning for LSU football. Why dwell on yesterday? Appreciate what he did do right. LSU could be in a far worse place.

Miles had a goofy personality. He would have been a fun guy to tailgate with, to drink a few beers with, maybe to go hunting and fishing with, but as far as coaching goes, he was anything but a good coach.

He was a piss poor communicator that routinely butchered the English language and piss poor communicators never make good coaches or teachers to begin with. He couldn’t even use the word “desire”. Instead, like a prekindergarten student he always used the word “want” instead. That was so damn silly and stupid. I never could understand why we ever hired someone so inarticulate like that. He was extremely painful to watch and to listen to.

I already did if you keep reading. Is there a QB on the roster that will make LSU an actual contender in the next year or 2?
