"Dracula and LSU Football are at their best after the sun goes down." -- Beano Cook.

Maybe one day I'll be able to visit Death Valley for a night game. Hopefully next season. Anyone been to the Big House who can compare the two experiences?

I'll get you into DV, good seats, if you can hook me up at the Big House.

I've been to both, but my UM experience was against a cupcake in a day game so no comparison, LSU in a landslide. Night games are just better imo.
I'd like to check out a UM/OSU game there in the next couple years when both are contenders

ETA: I will say the Big House's sheer size is a sight to behold and I really dig the lack of advertisements around the bowl...as in there are none

I've never been to the big house. Have friends that went and said it was seriously quiet.

I have a buddy that is from Gonzales but lives 30 minutes from Ann Arbor now. He has stated multiple times that both stadiums at their best, the big house is tame compared to Tiger Stadium.

Michigan isn't much a night game place. They have very little history of night game success, in fact they didn't even play a night game until 2011.

From wiki:

quote:

The lights were first used at the men's hockey game on December 11, 2010. The following season saw the stadium's first night football game on September 10, 2011

Tiger Stadium is living on past reputation.

No. The closest I ever got was LSU/Notre Dame in South Bend, 1985, though nothing will ever compare to the literal tears of ND fans after Henry Thomas blocked their winning FG attempt.

I literally got to watch Notre Dame fans cry, with a bonus from my brother's teary-eyed friend - "I hate it when we lose to these shitty southern teams."

Dalton Hilliard and Henry Thomas - wherever you are - I love you guys.

I have never been to the Big House but hope to go some day but I don't know how you compare any other Stadium to TS when at its best you can't hear someone right beside you screaming at you. Loud is loud.

Oh yeah...went to the UM v. Wisconsin game in 2008. Could not believe how relatively quiet the stadium was compared to TS...I kept trying to get fans in my section to get up and yell. I kept saying, "These numbers are a weapon...let's use them." Eventually, the mood did change as the Wolverines chipped away at the lead and by the time they came back...it finally got a little loud. Not nearly as deafening as a TS on a Saturday night...against a big time SEC opponent.

I went to the Penn State a couple of years ago. I thought it was supposed to be a big game because it was at night and all, but I was let down by the atmosphere. It didn't get loud or rowdy...but I will give The Big House this, they really know how to do lined at the restrooms and concession stands. I rarely had to wait in line for either.

Tiger Stadium, at night, when the team is playing well, can't be topped.

My business partner is a Michigan alumni. I went with him a few years ago. I swear I could have called a audible from the nose bleed seats and Henne would have heard me. I was shocked how quiet that stadium was. Then it hit me, at halftime I watched a dad throw a football with his son as he smoked a joint 10 feet from a cop. LSU fans are drunk and loud and Michigan fans are high and quiet. A year later we went to a LSU game and he was blown away. The big house was great and I'm glad I got to see it. It's just a different experience. The strip clubs in Canada were nice too:)

A trip to The Big House is on my bucket list. I'd love to go on a tour at several stadiums when LSU isn't playing, so I can just be a fan for the day.
