Does anyone know when the lights on top of the Baton Rouge Bridge will come back on? Or why they haven't been on for the last couple of months? Just wondering. Thanks & Geaux Tigers!

I just have to ask why this is a concern to you?

Les miles lost control of the lights long time ago

It isn't a "concern." I said I was just wondering because I live downtown and see the bridge every night out my window, and hadn't heard why the lights have been out.

lights draw attention which causes traffic

Because black lights matter

I'll leave a box of bulbs at the foot of the bridge and you can climb up and change em.

That bridge is one of the worst bottlenecks on a major interstate in the entire country, and you are concerned about the lights on top for aesthetic reasons?

Sufficient answer, for real.

They should do something similar to the Texas St. Bridge in Shreveport, except a purple and gold theme.

They are probably doing maintenance. Changing light bulbs takes DOTD about 6 years.

You could've just bragged about this in the OP and gotten it over with.

You're right... I definitely should have started a thread about the infrastructure of the Bridge and how merging with the Intercoastal before splitting I-10 and 110 isn't sufficient before slipping this question about the lights in!

Right, I was really just wanting to brag, but couldn't post a photo that looked perfect enough because there weren't any lights on the bridge...

I knew it.

I assume it's DOTD's responsibility. If it has anything to do with the BR Department of Public Works, it won't ever get done. They are beyond worthless.

Does the 190 bridge have lights?
