According to an article in The Advocate this morning, there is a regularly scheduled meeting, in Atlanta, of all the League presidents. "LSU is hopeful to have a resolution plan put on the agenda" to be discussed. And J.Alleva said once again he is very doubtful the game can be played unless "some serious schedule changes are made". At last count, for LSU to give up home game revenues AND pay S.Alabama a buyout, the dollar amount is $6.5M + . No way the League writes a check for that, though it obviously has the money in the checkbook.

Florida caused this intentionally and dishonorably and was suborned by the depraved indifference of Stankey, yet it seems that LSU and the city of Baton Rouge may have to be the sole bearers of the cost. This is wrong. The entire conference, and especially Florida should pay. IMO, the only just solution is as follows:

o SEC pays CBS whatever it takes to move the SEC CG back a week.

o Florida loses the home game. Play it at one of the bowl game locations that may be effected by delaying the bowl selection decisions.

o SEC pays the bowl selection for their added expenses

This set up could be done contingently on whether or not the game matters.

Hell no to Nov. 19!

They are trying to make LSU look bad and they always will. Now, this is about the bigger issue with the SEC office continually screwing LSU. We must not cave to the bastards.

It's real simple, suspend the mandatory 8 game conference rule this season because of the hurricane and Florida refusing to play and if LSU runs the table at 6-1 and tied for the division lead and they hold the tie breaker of head to head they go to the title game...

That is the fair thing to do...

None of that is going to happen.

Forfeiting is short sighted. Yes it would help us get to the SEC championship game, and even though it's a long shot right now, it would be held against us when it comes to playoff consideration. The SEC would be left out or they would take a 1 loss Bama ahead of us. If you want to be a playa you gotta play.

I don't think it will either, but it is the most just solution and it could happen if the right righteous people gave a shite.

Nor should it. This falls at the feet of SEC Commissioner Stankey. He could have avoided this if his balls had dropped in time for him to act like a man and force Florida to move the game.

Yeah it costs LSU $6.5M if they lose a home game but it costs the community way more than that. Baton Rouge needs the economic boost more than anything - even for a minor OOC opponent.

Add in the 3 road games to end the season and there's no reason to budge an inch here.

Let the season play out and if the FL vs LSU has any implications on the SEC championship game move the championship game back a week.

Sec wins with this they get a playoff game on championship Saturday and then the only game the next week for the title

Make the selection a week later.

This will not happen and would inconvenience the rest of college football.but it works for me

And if the league won't get in their pocket to make us whole...we sure as hell should not give up the $5million and play a masochistic 5 week schedule

The problem there is they'd need to accommodate tennessee somehow because they still get screwed if florida wins out. The only solution is the game needs to be played
