Sure he has inside information in regards to the team, but this situation has been pretty close knit. I think Charlie was throwing a guess out there just like everybody.

I don't think that is completely true. Gordy Rush, his boss, is the sideline reporter for the radio broadcast. I'd imagine the people affiliated with the game (i.e. players, coaches, training staff, broadcasters, etc) will probably get info before the general public does. If they are going to try to play the game in Florida, LSU has to travel tomorrow. The equipment truck has to leave tonight. Those folks need to know what's going on moreso than the fans sitting at home.
He may ultimately be wrong, but he does have connections with the team.
