The traffic complaint is so weird to me. Have any of you ever been to any big sporting event other than at tiger stadium? There is traffic after every sporting event everywhere.

To act like it is unique to lsu does not make sense

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Whether other venues have the same problem or not is really irrelevant. People are leaving early to beat the traffic for the most part. If you make that flow a little better, more folks would stay.

I can understand how maddening it must be for the old timers who go to games and see how diminished the atmosphere has become.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention, but the old timers in the gold seats are the ones leaving early if they even show up at all.

Charge corporations double. They'll buy less and leave more tickets available for the rabid tiger fans who really want to be there.

Not really. I watch a shite ton of football not just lsu. You do not see mass exodus in any other stadium like lsu fans. Are you saying that lsu fans are the only people that don't want to be inconvenienced by traffic?

The solution is winning a championship. You don't see Clemson or FSU fans leaving early.

Clemson hasn't won an NC since 1981.

Traffic or no traffic, people are still going to leave early. It's too hot, it's too cold, the game is too long, it's a blowout, too drunk, not drunk enough, it will always be something.

Agree. The problem is more pronounced at LSU. Either we face some unique logistical problem or - as I suspect - the current generation of LSU fans is a pack of lazy dogs.

Great attitude.

Improving the stadium experience would help with attendance actually

Why? Your little heart can't stand that people will do something you wouldn't do? You can't enjoy a game unless every last soul stays the entire game?

I don't get why what others do as far as staying or going bothers the enjoyment of other people who stay. Sounds like the insecurities of people who are followers and need validation of others.

It kind of is relevant if people think other teams don't have the same issue with fans leaving early. Unless your argument is that our fans care more about traffic than other fan bases

That's probably true, but for fans driving in from NOLA or Lafourche Terrebonne, and a number of other areas, the traffic is a deal breaker. Not everyone leaves early to beat traffic, but most do.

Another issue is these old arse legacy season ticket holders who leave early because they are old af.

Eta. Tons of Primetime night games also make it tough. I've never left early and live about an hour away. I generally don't get home until close to 1am. You take the bad with the good.

There is a solution. Cut back on student section. Start scannkng people out and they lose prioriety points for leaving early.

The problem IMO is that our games have not been very entertaining the past several years

I didnt really notice the attendance being down in the stadium. The traffic didnt seem bad at all before the game. We drove straight into campus at 3pm with no problem. This usually isnt the case.

The atmosphere is down though.

The bathrooms suck
The food overall is horrible.
The piped in music is getting old and predictable.
Getting anywhere after the game is horrible, but I dont know how that can be fixed.
I feel like the season ticket people are just going through the motions now.

I go because I have season tickets, I like all the people that sit by us, and I live near the stadium. Tbh, if I didnt have the tickets, I would just watch at home.

Very true. Society has changed. The typical LSU season ticket holder has changed. The importance of LSU football has changed. Certainly, under Les, the entertainment value declined (although his departure won't improve people attending or remaining.)

Let's face it, it's more about being a social event that a sporting event.
However there are fanbases that still sit through the majority of the game, including NFL games.

I think that's true to an extent. You have a huge fan contingent coming from NOLA and points east.
