Why are people mentioning Patterson? If he wanted to leave TCU for a place like LSU he could of and would of done it a very long time ago.

Patterson, Shaw, and Dantonio are never leaving their current jobs but people insist on mentioning them anyway. I don't know why.

Herman- don't think he wants the pressure

He shouldn't coach then

this I can agree with

Fedoras a sound coach. Not sure it's an upgrade from miles but it's not a pipe dream like some are.

Agree again

Federa is solid coach, but not on Fisher level

Out of the 3, surely one of them is willing to move on for the right situation. You don't think Dantonio feels like he's stuck in an impossible situation sometimes? His team didn't even belong in the same league as Alabama in the playoff.

Reports say Shaw is willing to listen. It might be a culture clash with LSU, but he did work for Harbaugh after all. Biggest problem with him is getting lured away to NFL.

Chip Kelly. Would be my pick ran a really good program. And was always in contention before the playoff started.

My best guess is Herman, for however much money it takes to get him.
Timing indicates that. Herman was probably the likely choice, and once Houston started out hot like they have, his name has skyrocketed. If you wait, someone else is going to make a move and pursue him.

In contrast- the other big name mentioned is Jimbo Fisher. He's at Florida St, and he's not leaving there for anywhere else. If he will come to LSU, he could do that after the season... nobody else is going to snap him up.

Not that I dislike Orgeron, but why are you really hoping that LSU hires a coach with a 16-27 record over a coach with a 70-40 record?

Because I'd like to see the defensive staff intact and I think if O hires a hotshot OC you'd be in better shape than starting completely over.

Hell I know that to be true. To me it's the common sense course of action.

My prediction is Herman is confidentially-signed before November, and will be leaked before the bowls.

That's what USCw did with Helton. Look how that's working out.

It will be Saban. He's tired of fishing in Alabama and wants to finish what he started at LSU! LSU will offer 7-8M for him to leave Bama. He's ready to leave!

If he doesn't take the job, it will be Fisher!

If there is a whiff on "leading candidates", I'd rather PJ Fleck or Jeff Brohm before Fedora
