him, with aranda would be the southpark meme with the computer screen covered in a bunch of man gravy.
i believe he's going to try and stick it out in the nfl, probably as an ego thing....but he was very complimentary and impressed with the size and speed of d linemen in the sec. he knew he would never get that much d talent out west consistently.
would be interesting to see his interest if the 9'ers start to falter and he's already being pushed out or just not interested in san fran.......but, i believe he either stays in the nfl until ran off, or stays out west in college again eventually.

We only get Chip Kelly in 3 years when he flames out in SF.

With as much arse as he would kick, you'd better believe it...cold personality be damned.

Kelly left the Ducks by mutual consent. He had burned too many bridges with the big money boosters & openly expressed his dislike with that aspect of being a HC in college. He is not married & according to critics in Philly, has one life, football; i.e. zero person skills & to be a HC in college you have to smooze the alums, recruits, families. He hated that part of it according to an article in S.I. right after he left.

I've seen this multiple times here. Can you provide a link?

He'd pull recruits on his NFL acumen and Oregon success alone, and he's good enough to guarantee the slickest scoring offense in the SEC on the first day he arrives.
Chip Kelly would be my #1 pick, but I don't think he'll be available. Then again, nobody thought Saban or Harbaugh would be available, either ...

I've said it before, his system with LSU athletes would be frightening.

He's not, it's only his first year in SF so he ain't going anywhere. I would love to see Chip in the SEC thou.

Yes but LSU's not getting him.

We both know how them West Bay types operate.
3 in 4 years, and possibly 4 in 5. The times have certainly changed, eh?

It would be a longer rebuild under Kelly as he would have to rerecruit almost the entire offense to fit his system.
But give him a couple of years and he would be the one pushing Saban out of the league.

The vast majority of LA High Schools run some variation of the spread. IT wouldn't be that hard a transition.
He would be the perfect coach scheme wise with LSU's talent and recruiting base.
Personality would be hard fit down here.

Nah, Kelly is really good at adapting. He'd have the offense humming the 1st year. I have zero doubt about that.

Sure between Texas and Louisiana he could get the players, but it would take three years or so to recruit them. The offensive players on the roster were recruited for a completely different system and then were ruined by whatever black cloud hung over Les's offenses. There might be a losing season between his hiring and a SEC West title.
Kelly is one of those guys who if he has his guys to run his system he will kill you, but if he doesn't have his guys then his system will just be run crappily.
I think the reason so many want Herman is he is the kind of coach that can win with what he has, he doesn't really have a system like Kelly.

I said it once and I'll say it again: No. Being a HC is much more than coming in and putting out a sexy offense. Personality plays a lot in this too and Kelly is the last guy who would fit Baton Rouge. He'd lose his locker room too as he's not a very likable coach as you saw at Eagles and he was starting to have problems in Oregon his last years there. He's a good coach but if the players don't like you and you can't relate to them they're not going to play for you. See how San Francisco went full retard and got rid a VERY good coach in Harbaugh who not only made Stanford a powerhouse but achieved more in first few years in the NFL than any other coach ever. They ran him out because players didn't want to play for him. Kelly would have a similar problem here eventually.
You don't just look at a coach and say he's great on paper I think he can win here! You have to analyze everything. Does he fit into the culture of Baton Rouge? Does he have the personality the players will respect? Will the alumni/boosters like him? How good can he recruit and fit in with Southern culture where he'll be doing the majority of his recruiting? A lot more goes into it than you think. The only person I can honestly say makes the most sense to come to Baton Rouge on everything is Jimbo Fisher. That's without even knowing for sure he could come in and do well in the SEC.
