Does anyone know if Halloween will be on the traditional date this year of Monday 10/31/2016? Who determines if this gets moved or if trickortreating takes place on the weekend? Last year the city moved the "official" day based on rain.

It's typically only moved if there are traffic issues due to conflicts with Friday night football or an LSU game. No reason it should be moved from a Monday.

Halloween isn't some corporate retreat that a bunch of bureaucrats can just move around all Willy nilly. Halloween is in your heart, celebrate whenever you want.

Nope. The city killed it with permitting fees. It is, alas, no more.

That was my response to this. I was around before, during, and after they shut it down

When I grew up, Halloween was on Halloween and the city didn't tell anyone when they could and could not trick or treat. Maybe this should be brought up at the debates.

Or rain, or if its on a Sunday and all the churchy people get upset, or if some whiney bitch-wife has some esty party crap falling on the same night....Halloween is Oct 31. That's when it is. You can't move it for your convenience. If you don't want to or cant participate on that day, that's your problem.

Lived on Harwich for 3 years, good times indeed.

Won't forget the time the guy a few houses down was teeing up golf balls, in my front yard, towards the Louisiana School for the Deaf and yelling 4 at the top of his lungs.
