The absurd part for Miles is that he didn't even try to fix it this year

I guarantee you that if we were 2-2 right now having scored 30 ppg and showing obvious offensive improvement, he's still employed today.
It's that he came back with EXACTLY the same bull shite.
I mean, you can only flip your boss off so often. Eventually, boss is gonna pull the trigger.

Plenty of factors got him fired, but I think none more than this.

And that's exactly what he did flip his boss off and all of the fans!

Biggest reason he was fired.
If he had gone out and gotten a new OC and really tried to revamp the offense like Stoops did at OU, he'd still have a job.
He Lou Tepper'ed himself.

If we put up 30a game with this defense, we may never lose.

He wanted to use this year as a told you so...how'd that work out Les?
Posted on 9/25/16 at 5:19 pm to ShortyRob
He was too busy working on clock managment

Yep... That's always been Les' Achilles, his failure to change and absurd loyalties to individuals over what's perhaps best for the team.

He has not changed anything and has been giving us the finger for years! Glad it's over!

I think there is WAY more to this story than what we see. A battle of wills so to speak.
Les wasn't fired for losing to Auburn and Wisconsin, he was fired for being stubborn and refusing to make changes IMO

Even in a game that most people were pretty sure would cost him his job if he lost, nothing was better. Unbelievable really.

I don't know what the frick was in his head.
But, he came back running the same shite that for all practical purposes got him fired last year.
That's just mind boggling really.
I can't think of ANY job where doing the equivalent of that would be acceptable.

My new theory is that when he got the ride on the shoulders of his players last year, he was at peace with getting fired and collecting his buyout.
Getting pulled back in was almost like a kick in the nuts for him. I don't think he was trying to prove anything to anybody. He was simply going through the motions.
He wasn't his usual happy and spazzy self on the sidelines this year.

Les got stuck in that mentality of being loyal to friend instead of the job. He and Cam talked themselves into believing B. Harris was capable of being an SEC QB. if Etling had been getting 1st team snaps since August, they might have a viable offense.
There was a reason the Ravens fired Cameron in the middle of a Superbowl winning season, he sucks at his job.

well, Cam can add LSU to that list of great jobs hes been fired from

He NEVER tried. He told y'all what you wanted to hear and every time y'all were surprised that he didn't fix:
The clock management
Getting Russel Shephard in the game
The passing game
Like he said he would. It's amazing he lasted this long and some people still supported him.

Yes he did try to fix it.
You didn't notice throwing on every down last night after Guice broke off a big one and LF had over 100 yards?
No way he should've kept going to the air after a long history of always running when we should've been passing.

That's my point.
If he shows up with a revamped offense and loses two high scoring affairs, he probably isn't fired yet.
But frick. Truly awful teams field better offenses than Les does.
