I love Coach Miles and I appreciate what he did for LSU but I also believe it was time for a change

Best wishes Les. Thanks for the good years, and all the excitement. Wish it had wrapped up on a more positive note.

Retirement? He's gonna win 10 Super Bowls now.

Gimmie a fricking break with this shite, he's held this program hostage too long, should have been fired years ago

Coach Miles was a personality for LSU all these years. As dumb fans we may not always see reality, but he brought us greatness at our own peril!

Bittersweet is a good usage here...

Its hard to imagine anyone else as our coach and leader but it is time! Good luck coach and thanks for all the high times and good drama. All the best to you and your family.

I love the man.
But there seemed to be a lack of discipline and order on the field for a number of years. It was no longer fun to watch them play.
I have watched (listened to or read about) since 1948. Last 3 years have been so unrewarding as entertainment and excitement.
But he is a great man - I wish him well. I hope he retires gracefully and enjoys his later years.

Thanks, coach. I was sold on you since your first 4th down play as our coach.
Fake punt from out of our own end zone. I thought "this man has balls. I like him."
You gave us a decade of winning football, and we appreciate it very much. Sorry to see it end on this note, but it was time. Thanks again for your representation of our football team, our university, and our state. You will be missed.

He was a coach who was great for a time but then the game passed him up. But we should still respect his accomplishments here. 114-34, 2 SEC Championships, a National Championship. That's worthy of praise.
Yep, there were some ups & downs, but he did get us a NC, however, the team had been in a decline, change was needed.

Will never get the credit he deserves for guiding the team through Katrina.
