Yes. I'd add some andouille though

Possibly the best food ever invented.

Sure. I've been making corn dogs lately. I made shrimp and I also made smoked sausage corn dogs. For some, I just put the links on and for others, I grilled the links a bit and then fried them. I rolled them in cornstarch to get the batter to adhere as suggested by Alton Brown. I used his batter recipe. They were darn good. I thought about mixing sausage and shrimp, but they might be too long for the fryer I was using. I made sort of a dijon mayo sauce for them. Actually, Durkee's sandwich spread is pretty good on these. I'm a Durkee's fan.

Is this the same thing as Durkee's Famous Sauce? I'm a big fan of that.

Like the idea, most likely use some other types like andouille and hot sausage. Maybe deer sausage.

They are so easy to make. Alton says that once you mix the dry and wet ingredients, you need to make the corn dogs, but the recipe makes a good bit of batter. I put the remainder in the fridge and made more several days later. Worked just fine. There are a number of batter recipes out there, so you can take your pick. I've only tried two...the Ruffino's recipe and Alton's. I prefer the latter because it's crispier and has more flavor, but I've used Ruffino's many times on shrimp and it's fine, too.

It's a good twist on a corndog. Need to try the Ruffino's

I now they sell them at the Lafayette restaurant. Not sure about the BR location. We've made that recipe a number of times and it's always well received. The sauce with it is good too. I recommend trying them at the restaurant.

Ketchup on a corn dog? Blasphemous.

They definitely sell the corn dog shrimp at BR. Between that and the salt block seared tuna I'm usually good with just Apps.
