Race and the Number of People Killed by Police

Am I reading this wrong? According to this article, so far in 2016 around 790 people have been killed, 194 of those killed have been black (25% of people killed by police this year have been black).
LINK
If this is the case are we seeing irresponsible reporting by the media? If you read the news, its reported as if the police shot another black person. "Police shoots black man". Has there been any big story about another race getting shot?
I am just questioning whether or not the media is throwing fuel on the fire by selectively reporting people killed by police and the exact reason why they are being killed.

The year isn’t over yet, and police have already killed at least 790 people?—?many of whom were unarmed, mentally ill, and people of color.
This number comes from The Guardian’s police killings database, but the Killed by Police database counts 844 people who have died at the hands of police so far this year. The Washington Post reports that 706 people have been shot and killed by cops.

Of course they are. Have to get those ratings anyway they can

I know that's stating the obvious, but in this case the results continue to create violence and division within the country. Are media outlets willing to sell their soul to the devil? Are they willing to do something at all cost?

Probably not by design but definitely for ratings. Nothing gets people tuned in like outrage. This is why I only get my news from my aunt's Facebook page.

the media reports for hits/ratings
outrage/controversy gets hits/ratings
the media doesn't care about anything else

Color me shocked.
No pun intended.

This is more of what I am getting at. Is it by design? And if you are going to report on something like the police killing situation, why not highlight the facts and report the numbers.. Instead of painting a picture that the police on shoot a certain race.

I think we all know that this is the problem but is there an answer? This seems like a shitty side effect of capitalism in the media. Non profit news organizations? I honestly have no idea what the fix for this is.

Its a legit discussion arse clown, you don't like it then GTFO. I am 100% serious here. Of the 790 something police shootings this year, how many have you heard about in the news?

No, it probably isn't. News media is more concerned with profit than agenda. There's no supervillain trying to take down the USA with shitty reporting, just lazy assholes giving the public what they want.

Private, for-profit news can't be trusted for the reasons stated in this thread. State run media is the answer for objective non-biased news.
