The only way she is still at lsu is if Van Wilder is her role model.

Del Rio would be very successful here

I think so, too. And, as a man that likes nice things, I'd be hyped to see his suits on game day...he'd likely mix in all sorts of shades of purple and gold between the suits, shirts, ties, etc...fun stuff, and it could be cool for the school.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and will probably be bashed and talked bad to and called dirty names even though I, in no way, support it. It's just for thought and nothing else. So, for those that are fixing to jump and scream at me, KMA.
- Miles is on a very hot seat
- Saban is crawling down Kiffin's throat
- Saban hires Sark as an "Offensive Analyst" (possibly OC in waiting)
- Rumors are that Kiffin is gone after this year
- This took place this past week
- Kiffin could be hired much cheaper than Jimbo or Hermann
- This is what I would expect from Aleva and Alexander

Could contact have been made? I don't know. I hope this doesn't happen. Rant and wail away.

Miles is 90% done. The 10% left is only because he still has a chance to win the SEC and get to the playoffs. Hell, they carried him off the field last year thinking it was his last game. Does anyone really believe that the influential people who wanted him fired last season somehow changed their opinion in 8 months? Even if they did, Miles exhausted his "second chance" by coming out and losing to Wisc due to the same problems/approach that has lost him at least 2 games a year 6 of the last 7 years.

Maybe the quick hook for Harris is proof that "Miles gets it". But hell, he's got no choice. He's in Lou Brown territory. They're going to fire him at the end of the season, so he may as well just win the whole damn thing.

I think the Jimbo ship may have sailed unless he has a down year at FSU. I can't think he will allow his name to be the subject of speculation two years in a row.

Herman will likely be able to write his own check. However, its hard to see a "bigger" program than LSU potentially having a job opening at the end of the season. Notre Dame? Nope; USC? probably not. Michigan? No. Alabama? No. Ohio St.? No. If Herman wants to move to a bigger program than Houston, then LSU would probably only be competing with Texas (maybe), Oklahoma (maybe), and Texas A&M (more likely).

Del Rio has a daughter that lives in NOLA. I think he would have been the LSU coach had Skip chose to wait until the NFL season ended rather than hiring Miles. That said, he's got a young team that looks to be taking steps towards becoming a serious contender. He's only in year 2 with a young QB that might be in the top 5 QBs not named Brees, Brady, Rothlisberger, Rodgers, Newton. The bottom line is that it may be very hard to pull basically an NFL lifer (coaching-wise) away from an organization that could be setting themselves up for a long period of success.

After last year's mishandling of the situation by the boosters and administration, I refuse to get my hopes up about any potential candidates.

Anyway...

there would be some advantages to a kiffin hire-
sec familiarity
recruiting acumen
would most likely keep O and much of our good staff intact
offensive acumen
price

there are other hires that could be worse. at 43 yrs old, I never put it past lsu to make a real f up hire. my only concern would be starting a paper trail. he took over a very depleted usc team that still hasn't recovered. carroll gtfo before it hit the fan and left him with a mess.

No NFL HC is going to drop down from being a HC in the pros to become a HC at a college program. Nicky did it because he was sick of the pro player mentality from most accounts. Ron Higgins of NOLA.com, a well connected SEC sports writer for decades is putting the odds of CLM leaving at 80%. Said his offense has no chance at anything better than a 8 win season. Houston gets picked for Big 12 expansion, his salary jumps to $5M according to media accounts. So how much more is LSU willing to pay a HC with only 2 yrs experience? Reputation or not, he's yet to do it for a full season against a Power 5 league.
