If he only played for Jimbo. IMO

If he played in a Spread offense*

Give it up. No matter how many times you say it, it doesn't become reality.

It's not that simple, man. Brandon doesn't look like he has a ton of natural instincts, and his pocket presence is terrible. Also, anyone with the amount of talent that you and others like you likely think this kid has should be able to hit wide open receivers routinely, especially after being in college for 3 years.

Would any of you guys be comfortable in the pocket with this OL?

Good point
I don't think he's a stud but after watching all of his throws on tape, he didn't play as poorly as most sugggest. Dupre really played the worst out of anyone on our team, and that didn't help BH's stats at all. Of course most choose to concentrate on our last offensive play, which was bad, and to not consider the entire game. Considering the o-line and WR performances, BH's performance was about average.

don't worry. miles is gonna adapt to Brandon and script the plays for him.
translation - we won't pass against JSU unless we absolutely have to. we won't allow Brandon to make mistakes, ie, we won't let him pass.
I actually saw a poster who thinks that means we are really gonna sling the ball around. Sheesh! this is les miles, man.

One thing is for sure, he would look and play a he'll of alot better under Jimbo. Our current offensive scheme is pure junk, add the terrible blocking and lack of creativity which I have said before. LSU needs to create more space on the field not 3 yards and a cloud of dust mentality, or damn close to it. Can't tell me Brandon can't consistently throw screens, bubbles, hooks, hb fades, etc to open up the mid to long pass.

I don't disagree. Jimbo would make most QBs better.
Problem with o-line is the culmination of poor o-line recruiting over a few years. We have a bunch of outstanding guards, but we haven't really done well at the tackle position. That is 100% on the head coach.

Harris is exactly what he was said to be as a recruit. A highly ranked dual threat QB, not a pro style pocket passer. Only problem is, we dont run a spread offense, and we never run him as a ballcarrier so you dont have to account for him in the run game. Total mismanagement of a guys skill set. Also, in his defense, after watching the replay of the game, we missed more blocking assignments than I have every seen a football team miss, and thats including high school games. Clapp and Malone played as shitty as I have every seen a O lineman play. Never knew who to block, so didnt block anyone.

The OL wasn't recruited for spread finesse and it would be a laugh.
Also Harris would have to get way better at his reads and audibles to QB a true spread concept.

It's been said by draft scouts Harris just isn't very accurate.

look, I think Harris is being misused by this coaching staff and the scheme doesn't fit his skills.
But let's face facts - he isn't an accurate passer. He just isn't. Now yes, some of that is on the coaches for not developing him properly and helping him improve, but a lot is just on Harris himself.
All that being said, I do think Harris could be more effective if Les/Cam put him in a system that fits his skill set.

When you line up in a 1 WR, 2 TE I-formation and don't use the TE's as receivers, don't get pass protection from the OL, it makes it kind of hard for a QB to look all world esp when he is a spread-option type guy. Harris deserves some of the criticism he is getting but he's just one of 11 players on offense. Last week, only LF played to form. Malone was terrible at blocking, Dupre dropped too many passes, the OL got manhandled. Did we even have TE's in the game? This all goes back to coaching and scheme. I'll give Harris the benefit of the doubt. The QB problems have been ongoing for too long for me to believe that the sole blame lies with them.

I wouldn't be, no...but I don't even play football.
Did you really think asking that question would somehow prove that Harris is NOT what he appears to be to 99% of the people that have watched him over the last 2-3 years?

He has skills, but not the one's that Les needs to run his scheme. Why do we recruit dual threat QBs who do best in space running a spread attack and then try to force fit them into a drop back passing model? Why can't they see that? Just recruit QBs wtih the skill set you need - not the one's that have more stars and make a recruiting splash.
BH would probably do great at UH or FSU, but he's is not going to be what Les and Cam want/need.

Brandon's a talented guy but he don't have the head to go with the talent. He freaks the f**k out when the pressure is on. He can't put a bad play behind him and he can't handle the pressure.
Lee was the same way once he threw a few pick sixes.
The self doubt and the" what if I eff up" thoughts have made a nest in his mind. He's toast.

He doesn't have it between the ears. People get too caught up in his arm strength and athleticism

Stud QBs have the ability to put their team on their shoulders and win. They hit open receivers down the stretch. They read defenses and find holes. They inspire their team mates. They don't need to be told what to do as Juniors in college.
There are many examples of stud QBs, but it's been a long time since we've seen one wear P&G.
Bert Jones, Rohan, and Hodson were studs for sure! Jamarcus had it in him and displayed it at times.

We lined up in that set exactly 1 time last Saturday. On our own 2 yard line in a max protect situation, and Harris threw out to Dural who ran for a 1st down.

don't use the TE's as receivers
In well over half the passing plays, we had 5 linemen in protecting. The rest, we either had the tight end out in a route, or were in 3+ receiver sets with no TE.

Yes, we did, and they were out in many routes.
You guys really should watch the games to comment on them.
