Offer him something like 5.3 mill, and I don't think Houston is going to get into the Big 12.

I'm calling it now, Herman to LSU if Strong and Sumlin win at least 8 and 9 games respectively.

Lol, imagine the melt if sumlin gets fired after losing to Les for the 5th time and tamu hires Herman.

Double whatever he would get if UH moves to the Big12

He's going to $3 mil at Houston.
He'll come for $5 mil.
LSU's a top ten coaching job.
Houston's not in top 25 as far as coaching job.
He'd be a fool not to come for Mile's salary ($4.39 mil)

Again, he gets a one time bonus of 5 million, if Houston becomes part of a Power 5 Conference.

I'd offer 6M, open to counter.

He damn well needs to know we aren't fricking around.

4-5.5 with significant incentives and the usual bump to highest paid if wins a title.

Tilman Ferttita will try to keep him there but LSU is most likely going to have more money than anyone in the market.

Again, I just don't see Houston getting that golden ticket.

Saban gets 7 Harbaugh gets 7 Fisher is 5.15 Urban is 5.8 and he's doing incredible things Stoops 5.4 Sumlan and Strong are 5 Dabo is 4.5 Les is in the 4's Freeze is 4.7 Franklin 4.4 Herman is making 1-2 million a year? Based off that.. I believe somewhere between 4-5 million annually. Absolutely no need for 7 million given only 2 coaches are making that. Not even Fisher.
Make it 6 for good measure. He couldn't turn that down.

Just Nike (Do) it.

Hope and pray that Texas/Texas A&M have great seasons so they keep Sumlin and Strong.

Do not want to get in a bidding war with them.....

What I'm afraid of is that the "powers that be" are letting Les Miles stay long enough to break McClendon's record(Which should be happening soon) and he will bow out gracefully. That option costs LSU nothing. You can tell that they are trying to let him hang on for something. I just don't know why else he's still here. Other than just plain politics.

Well if you're talking about last year the year, just politics.

Otherwise, They are not going to fire him this year after 1 loss.

The numbers I see in the responses all match up. So in my opinion, he's worth the Les Miles buyout since we were about to pay more LAST year. We pay the buyout of Tom Herman at UH, because Jimbo's was higher. THEN.....offer a sweet incentive to counter UH's bonus offer.

Something like "SEC appearance" incentives or "NC appearance" incentives. In addition to a reasonable signing bonus.

Salary? He has already shown in results that if we don't offer 4-5 million a year, someone else will.

I think the PAC 12 is more of a possibility. Top 3 market.

Tom knows he is SEC caliber. That he can do it. I honestly think he is intrigued by the idea of going up against Saban. He is the current standard.

I think he'd accept the challenge, just that his preference is a Texas school at the moment. He can be swayed though.

This post is to all in this thread.

How much do each of you plan to contribute to the $5-$8 mill that has been talked about (not including the buy-out)? Typically, this board likes to bitch about the price of tickets as they stand. If this goes thru like ya'll want are you willing to pay an extra $100 per game for your tickets until we recover the buyout's; or are you planning on spending "other people's; money for this to happen?

I was on the Miles train but I'm looking for the exit station. Just not sure how much I want to pay to get off 3 stops early because the cab fair my be more than the original ticket. Although the train may derail prior to my final destination.

My question is how much LSU is willing to lose by keeping Miles. I've never seen so many season tickets for sale on this site, and I've been here a long time.
