Almost every coach in the SEC over the last 10-15 years that stayed in place over the course of multiple years holds, or comes close to breaking, records in one or more of the following three categories:

1. The number of 10 win seasons
2. The number of total offense yards
3. Best offensive seasons for their schools

This list of coaches includes (off the top of my head): Mark Richt, Gus Malzahn, Kevin Sumlin, Dan Mullin, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, Hugh Freeze, Gary Pinkel, and Les Miles.

Citing "winningest" coach relative to a school historically (as well as offensive prowess) is meaningless given almost all coaches are doing it these days.

My point is, one reason Miles has so many records is because LSU was stupid enough to keep him longer than he should have been here so he could collect his 9-10 win pointless seasons.

For example, a few years back the SEC had seven 10 win teams and LSU...was in 5th place overall.

So please cite Les' career accomplishments, but just know that is more of an indictment on LSU than a compliment to Les Miles. It just means we settled on being a middle of the road SEC program for far too long.

That needs to end. Now.

...and almost all of those coaches would be regarded as the best coaches those schools have had

What about championships and winning percentage?

We haven't had a coach win like Les has. He WAS a good coach but it's been over a decade. We don't have to act like he was never a good coach to acknowledge we need to move forward.

10 win season isn't the same as it is in the past. There's going to be 30 teams with 10 wins this year.

Teams are playing 13-14 games each year. 10 wins is easy when there's 4 cupcakes on the schedule every year.

if sumlin and malzahn hold records for 10 win seasons, then that just means tamu and auburn are shite.

they have had like 2 or 3 between them.

Even if this is true, it was unnecessary. Just about all of those who you allude to that posted that record in Les' defense have already said its time to move on.

Meaningless. In the time of the Super conference argument teams have flooded their schedules with directional and FCS schools to the tune of 3 or sometimes 4 a season so they are "fresh" for the big conference games. So a 10 win season is just fluff if you can't win your conference games and Les has proven over the last 3-5 seasons he can't.

He's won the SEC Championship twice, made it to two national title games, won one.

He has been very good for this university and football team. Our talent level is high, our facilities are solid, we get a vast majority of in-state talent every year, etc.

He's just run his course. Time for a change. I thank him for the memories though.

Let's set the record straight on something. We are 0-1, with a stubborn coach, and an archaic offense. We are going to get Leonard hurt by running him behind an injured/horrible line. We will have a boat load of draft picks from this team, with shite to show but a program or ticket stud from some bullshite bowl.

I totally agree.

And let's state a few more facts. We all want to get back to the point in which we play for the SEC title and hopefully the National title. Which means we have to get where Alabama is now. If you want to be the best them hire the best. The Dean and the AD need to get that chip off their shoulders, give Saban what he wants in order to get him back.

The man left for millions of dollars. We can pay him what Alabama does, we could get him back and be on top again!!!

I get that everyone is tired of Miles and thinks LSU needs a change, but the idea that any mediocre coach could have done what Miles has done is nauseating. You can shite on him for his offensive philosophy and the overall trend of the program the last 4 years, but saying he has these accolades because LSU was "stupid enough to keep him longer than he should have been here" is asinine. He hasn't accrued a 10-win season since 2013, and at no point prior to that could you have realistically fired him without immense backlash.

There is only one team in the SEC West with more conference wins than LSU since 2012, and LSU is 3 conference wins clear of the 3rd place team.

I'm all for a change, but the only reason you can even make the argument LSU has been mediocre of late is because of the bar that Miles was pivotal in setting for years.

Charles McClendon did not have the luxury of 4-5 rent-a-wins a season.

Miles has had some damn good teams. he was won the sec twice and been to two NC games, winning one.

you choose to dis his entire past record and it hurts your credibility. you turn into a personal vendetta when you skew events. we are not stupid; we are smart enough to see that Miles was good at one time. you cannot change facts.
