Dude, we are twinsies. Didn't care for Gran Tourino. Million Dollar Baby? Lol I honestly don't care to watch it.
ETA: I do like westerns, though.

I finally saw Million Dollar Baby a few months ago, after thinking "why would I want to watch a female Rocky?" But it was good. Nothing earth shattering and it probably gets undue praise simply Bc old people love Clint. But it was good.
Gran Torino was straight retarded. It was cranky old man porn. An uncreative movie where the grizzled old veteran teaches the young punks a lesson. Clint plays his usual scowling character.

The only reason I will go see Sully is because a friend or my wife wants me to. It's a movie about a plane making an emergency landing where no one died. I'll pass.

And whatever inquiry was done, Sully was cleared and is still hailed as a hero. So truly no reason to see this.

caught a screening yesterday and I enjoyed the movie.
Hanks turns in another really good performance.
I wouldn't call it a masterpiece by any stretch, but it's a story worth being told, and eastwood likes going after this kind of material.

Band of Brothers is the greatest thing ever to happen to TV. Lol at you for missing it because "you know how it ends".
Yes, I was serious about that. 100%.

Know how I know you never saw Flight, or as you call it--"that movie Denzel did"?
Flight was a movie about addiction. The plane landing was just a plot device. Unless you're talking about Training Day. Since that's about as related to Sully as Flight.
Lol, hyperbole much?
I saw Flight (if only because of the flight attendant who gets nude in the opening credits). It was fine, but it was about a plane crash and the subsequent investigation/fallout. Yes the focus was on addiction, but it was about the victims and the investigation and all that.
It's not crazy to say this will be similar. Hell they even have a remark in the trailer about drinking .

What was the fallout? Being labeled a hero and going on the Today show?

He also got to throw out the first pitch at a Yankees game.

This story could be told in an hour episode of tv and still drag in some places...not sure how stretching it to 2 hours is gonna work.
I guess they're going all in for the psychological approach about why he did what he did.

I watched it tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tom Hanks is a great actor and while I obviously knew the outcome, it was still an intense movie.

The fallout was the NTSB was a bunch of dicks, and Monday morning quarterbacked the whole thing.

Yes it is crazy. We know this story for the most part and if it was anything like Flight with the drugs and alcohol we would all know that by know. Or if anything illegal happend we would know
