For the first time in many years, the full/whole tiger band WILL NOT travel during the regular season. WTF.

You can also look at it as an opportunity for more tickets to be allotted to students, fans, etc.

Is this really Joe Alleva's decision? Is the band part of the athletic budget? Honest question I don't know.

It's due to the high cost of flying, housing and feeding 110 students for Greenbay. Talley said it costs roughly the same to fly 110 to Greenbay as it does to bus the whole band to Auburn. They had to make a choice and chose Wisconsin as it would be a national marquis game. They're also banking on taking the whole band to Atlanta this year which will also cost a lot. The school of music would prefer to take the full band on the road more, but the funds aren't there and they need donors to step up. TAF gives donors the option to channel their donations to the Tiger Marching Band booster fund.

Alleva is playing a big role in destroying a great tradition at LSU.
Road games are a huge incentive to get top quality players in the band. Cut out the perks and the band will decline.
