As one African American in red, white, and gold sits during the song another, Petty Officer 1st Class Steven Powell, in dress whites sings it. A color guard representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines and 240 soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines holding a massive “super flag” on the field aid the visual aspect of the performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” at Quaalcom Stadium in San Diego. So-called super flags generally take up the entirety of a football field. Their 300-feet-by-150-feet dimensions almost perfectly correspond to the size and shape of the gridiron. They weigh more than a half ton and cost north of $50,000

Final preseason game for both teams, meaning 2nd stringer Kaepernick will be playing a ton

Quite the coincidence for this being the 28th Annual event, serves him right

Whelp.....I can only hope that he refuses to stand afterwards because both of his shins were broken in half.

This is becoming less about Kap and more about people boosting themselves up by the day

I don't understand, did Kaepernick say anything disrespectful to The Troops?

What is handed to a young man who served in the military's widow at their funeral?

An American flag. Still doesn't answer whether he said anything disrespectful about The Troops.

If anything other than blanket reverence for the flag is unacceptable, is it disrespectful for people to wear boxers like these and leave skidmarks all over them?

He's actually going to be starting and should get a lot of action because Gabbert (100% the starter) will be sitting as he's gotten enough reps.

They may be cutting him soon for performance and attitude reasons extraneous to his petulance. He did not put in the locker room work coming back from injury and did not put in the film work (his biggest deficiency) in the offseason. It has proven super easy to get in this guy's head, 10 booing Charger fans may be enough to ensure he has a shitty game and gets the axe.

Honestly, who takes a stab on this guy if he's cut this weekend? Forget 2012 Kaepernick, he isn't even 2015 Kaepernick right now, he's paper thin and a distraction that 31 other teams may not care to have to start their year. He may not be on a regular season roster until 2017.

After speaking with seven anonymous NFL front office members, Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman came away with the opinion that teams "truly, truly hate" Colin Kaepernick, and he may never play another down in the league. "I don't want him anywhere near my team," one front office executive said. "He's a traitor." Another team executive said, "He has no respect for our country. [Expletive] that guy." And according to one GM, "In my career, I have never seen a guy so hated by front office guys as Kaepernick." One executive said he'd rather resign than sign Kap. Freeman believes '90-95 percent' of teams feel this way, and he thinks it's possible Kap will be blackballed once/if he's cut by the 49ers. Source: Bleacher Report Aug 31 - 9:35 AM

Kinda disrespectful to the troops to hold the salute to them at the worst game on the schedule.

Look, I don't like what Kap did and I'll never defend his point of view because to me it makes absolutely no sense and it's based on shallow rhetoric and baseless allegations, BUT this is America and he's entitled to his opinion no matter how shitty or despicable or how much I disagree with it.

At the same time...here are your consequences for an unpopular and controversial opinion, Kap.

And another poster did have a point, this is starting to become more about others boosting themselves than it is about Kap.

One more thing...awesome troll, Chargers.
