LF will get his yards... Y'all are the first team he's faced in a year. He's fresh and hungry!!! This will be a totally different team that you guys saw two years ago. He's going to get 200 in this one or they will get a combined 250 between Guice and LF. Guice is a very very talented back maybe just as good as LF and better in some aspects. If LSU uses the correct game planning we should win this easily. Put up over 400 yards on wisky. The defense is going to shut down yalls running attack and look out after. Good luck though
This has nothing to do with the post I responded to.

They were just pulling stats out of their arse since Chris James ran for 120+ on them near the end of the 2014 season.
Speaking of pulling stats out of their arse, it seems like as we get closer to the game you are really starting to reach for straws. Considering not only how good LF is, but also the lineman your team has lost, you shouldn't be making comments like "LF is gonna have to earn his yards". Number 7 will be eating your defense for a snack.

Yeah... I never said this.

ETA: Think you're referring to TxTiger. I've been about as fair-minded as can be on TD.

LSU only faced ONE opponent that won the National Championship last season
So UW had the same patsy schedule.

You know this game is gonna get ugly when the board is full of random crap and we are posting boring newspaper articles and talking about beer and golf. I sorta wish Wisconsin had a pulse

It was funny, after the game we were walking back to the car, and had some 'Cuse fans stop us and want to talk (a lot of them) One guy says, " we held your boy pretty good there didn't we?" I said yeah, I think he only had like 230

No doubt he was robbed of at least 250 yards (the 80 yard run v. Syracuse; 175 v. McNeese even if he was in a coma).
And even after saying all this, Henry still would have had a 15 to 13 game advantage, with more carries per game.
All Fournette needed was 2 less games instead of 3 with less carries per game to top the great Derrick Henry's record

He says only two teams held their opponents under 125 yards rushing per game: Atkansas and Alabama.
I'm sure you could look at Wisconsin's opponents and argue that very few of them feature power running games on the level of the SEC.

I can't wait to see all the Sunday headlines. This team is beyond ready to wreck shite. No more wide eyes, no more tentiveness. Just relentless violence on both sides of the ball.
THIS just amped up my intensity level on a Tuesday!!!!

Funny how the author mentions wisconsins rush defense and takes jabs at LSU's opponents while Wisconsin played some he absolutely worst offenses in the country last year. It goes both ways. Every team with a decent run had success running the ball.
Stats go both ways. Fact of the matter is...Wisconsin has only faced a few teams like LSU when it comes to running the ball and everytime they get ran right over.

STFU with this shite! The best back in LSU history, and you think his backup is better "in many ways"?
LF was, is, and will be the best all around back on every team he ever plays for, period! He's that good

Just curious, in what aspects is Guice better? Receiving? LF is an excellent receiver with great hands as well. Speed? No. Power? No. What aspect? And this is not to devalue Guice's abilities. I'd truly like to know in what aspects he is better than LF. Their freshman year there were some who claimed Williams was better than LF.

Ok.. I'm just letting you know not really responding to anything you guys have said. Although I keep seeing wisky fans try to reason with the yards he put up last year. FL was under 100 until facing our rush attack, so was Cuse. Bama is a different animal that we'll deal with soon enough. I mean if it was a November game in Lambeau I could possibly see you guys holding us but not in this game. Like I said if the right game plan is there no one except maybe bama should be able to stop us this year.

Damn, son. Talking up Guice isn't bashing Fournette. They are different backs and Guice is absolutely better at some things than Fournette.
Fournette isn't much of a threat slipping out of the backfield for dumpoffs in play action. Guice's running style is much better suited for that. Guice is also a little bit more elusive in the backfield. He seems more adept at making people miss when a defender busts into the backfield.

How about the ability to not hit the ground?? Admittedly I've seen very little of Guice but the little I've seen he's been very very impressive. 8 yards a carry is better numbers than LF is it not?
Posted on 8/30/16 at 10:07 am to justustm2
Yeah man I didn't say Guice was the better back. I think he gets to top speed much faster than LF also so he's better there, he's also more nimble and can make people miss much more naturally than LF. Other than that I think LF is the better back.

Not really. Fournette is not a huge threat in the passing game. Can he catch? Yes, but he doesn't have "great hands." He is a downhill runner and doesn't have the same initial shiftiness that Guice does, which allows Guice to be more effective in dump-off situations. Guice is also amazing at shedding tacklers, which helps. Making the first defender miss on a dump-off or screen is huge.
quote:
Speed? No
Agreed, but Guice is plenty fast.
quote:
Power? No.
Running over tacklers, no, but Guice has proven very strong. Go back and watch him shed tacklers last year. That's serious strength that isn't predicated on momentum.
quote:
What aspect?
He is much shiftier than Fournette. As I said in the other post, he is better at making defenders miss. He's a "slippery" runner, whereas Fournette is a punishing runner.
To sit here and act like Fournette does everything better is just silly. They are different types of backs, they have different strengths and weaknesses. Fournette doesn't have to be best at everything to be the best all-around back.

YPC is disingenuous. Fournette picks up yards against and wears down a fresh defense. Guice gets more of his carries about defenses that Fournette has beaten into submission.
