Need a crane - Update

Boat was at Mike Gerald's on Airline Hwy and could get to it Sat when things started to get bad. Mine was only boat to float off lot and end up in drainage canal. I've called insurance and am waiting on adjuster but worried they are overwhelmed....would like it get it out before things get worse. Really think I'll need a crane to lift out and not sure what (if anything) can be done for now. Feel like longer it sits there worse it will get. Hull seems OK but motor was submerged...thoughts?

Looks like a tow truck could get it out if you have access to that property.

As said earlier. If you can get access to the property you can get it out. A truck with a winch can pull that out. I'd ask mike Gerald's what they are gonna do. They should have insurance for things like this, and should be the ones to take care of it.

Call a company that has truck cranes. Capital Crane is on Athens avenue, which is not far from Mike Geralds. They can set up near your boat, put down the outriggers, rig the trailer for lifting and be done in an hour or so.

If you use a tow truck you going to have to get that trailer out of the way first. If you try pulling from the side once you boat starts coming up that canal bank it may want to roll over. Do you know who that trailer is for?
Your options.
1. Get a crane..... not cheap.
2. Move the trailer and get a flatbed wrecker to get it out.
3. Get two wreckers, one to pull it out and one to hold back up so it doesn't roll down the canal bank.

We have used CDH crane services out of Scott LA for jobs in BR several times, we are usually lifting 5-6 tons, they have a Truck crane with operator that will do that, there is a 4 hour minimum, and that runs about $900.00. They can usually drive from Scott to the Prarieville area set up and do our job in the 4 hours. We have used them because their minimum charge was less than anyone we found in BR, and they were happy to do the small jobs.

Get an 18wheeler with a winch.

A crane would cost you anywhere from $500-$1000, assuming you could locate a 15T picker or something similar.
Eta: no need for a crane. My ecoboost could pull that thing out of there

You have insurance? If so let it go

Don't touch it. Keep that pic and several more of it's condition. You move it and they have all the ammo they need to deny claim. "You moved it out of there, how do we know you moved it in there?"

Call Emory Equipment or Scott Equipment and ask for @ 20 Ton truck crane. They are very simple to operate and they have a safety whereby you don't overload the lift and tip the unit over.
Just stake your time and it's relatively simple.
I would not do the Lull forklift route, because it's a $200 delivery fee plus the cost of equipment.
Good luck.

that's not your boat anymore
that's the insurance company's boat
you should be boat shopping not renting equipment
