BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Coroner has identified the ninth confirmed victim of devastating flooding in the Baton Rouge area.

The body of Bill Borne was recovered off Hoo Shoo Too Road.

Borne was the founder and former CEO of Amedisys in Baton Rouge. Amedisys is a home health services company and is now a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. He resided in Mallard Lakes, according to a person who helped search for him.

The discovery of Borne's body brings the flood-related fatality total to nine. Borne was among the people listed on WBRZ.com's listed of missing persons as storm recovery efforts began to ramp up. He was last seen at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, according to family. His red ATV was found in water along a boat launch at the Mallard Lakes subdivision off Hoo Shoo Too Road. His daughter said she believed he had fallen and injured his head.

More details are expected.

Just from my interactions with him he was a very friendly guy. Had the pleasure to work on some private equity stuff with him. He was always happy to help out where he could on up and coming local businesses.

Pretty good dude that built a fairly large American corporation from the ground up that helped a lot of people. He kind of let Amedisys, it's executives, and board members get a little too big for him and they eventually pushed him out....but this is pretty horrible to hear. I just left Amed in late 2015 and was on board when the BOD fired him.

Bill was a fantastic guy!

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he died trying to help someone else.

The daughter said she thought he had hit his head AND that they had reason to believe he was under some kind of wooden structure. That was all BEFORE he was ever found. The only conclusion is that they jumped to some really big conclusions or, more likely, they got taken by a "psychic." It sounded exactly like the bullshite those psychics tell you.
