Home flooded, no idea how high water is
Moms home flooded
Brother home flooded
Grandparents home flooded-no insurance just laid off home
Great grandparents home flooded
Many friends home flooded

Brother , mom and I all live in different parts of Northwoods in central, if anyone has info on that area would love to hear it.

Made it out with go bags, firebox and my dog and my trusty 2001 f150 4x4, lost the wife Ford Edge.
Have flood insurance but not contents .
I just really hope the water doesn't get in attic, if so we would have salvaged some pictures and the PC

Got popped in Central. Don't know how bad but my buddy made it about 4 houses from mine before water was impassable. Just bought and renovated the house 3 months ago. I was proud of the damn doors I hung lol.

Forest Glen Estates in Central. House flooded with at least 3' of water. We parked my wife's car on high ground and we're in my truck at a hotel with our dog and 3 cats. Extent of damage at the house remains to be seen.

Thoughts and prayers to my Louisiana brethren.

I'm watching from afar, and it is heartbreaking.

This just kills me. Can't do anything to help...
Family and friends watching their material possessions wash away, knowing the work and financial burden ahead...

As a Christian, it affects my heart.

At the moment, all I can do is pray for those that are going through this.

Churches will step up and and help, just like after Katrina.

I am taking solace in the fact of minimal loss of life. I hope those that are in this situation can focus on that.

I always say that if you have a problem that can be solved by writing a check, you don't have a problem, you just have an expense. I realize these are some big expenses, though.

Prayers out to my Louisiana brothers and sisters. It's not complete devastation here in Baton Rouge but being a boot native all my life I feel all of your pain. Embrace our Louisiana family y'all. Help when you can.

My dad made it to BR but he told me that he most likely lost everything. He is about 4 years away from retirement and I feel that something like this is going to shatter him. I am at a loss for words.

Every member of my and my wife's family, (save for a few aunts and my wife's siblings) lost our homes, cars, and possessions. Luckily we were able to save my car as well, but barely.

We live just south of range avenue in Denham. We were able to get a lot of stuff put up in the attic or hauled out but lost all our furniture, books, and some appliances. We have 5 kids 11 years old and younger and they are taking it better than the rest of us. My MIL, SIL, grandpa, aunt and uncle have lost dang near everything too.
I really wonder how all our families are going to get through this and what the future holds but somehow life will go on just like it did for all the people after Katrina.

If any of you who have suffered loss have needs, maybe post them here to see if people can help in some way.

My house in NOLA flooded in Katrina. I lost a car, furniture, appliances, clothes, etc.
Looking back after 11 years, my biggest loss was a large box I kept in my bedroom closet. That box contained pictures of my kids when they were little, pics of my grandparents, pics of high school and college fraternity activities, school yearbooks from elementary and high school, and letters written to me by my ex wife while she was away at school.

I rep laced the car, house, furniture, and clothes, but was not able to rep lace that box of memories.

I hope you thought to save your box of memories, because it's the one thing I wish I could have back now.

Checking in. Mom and dad lost everything. They are safe and most of the stuff can be replaced. Prayers to you and your family.
