What is your expert opinion on the Amite seemingly receding so fast?

The Great Flood of 2016: Backwater Flooding Occuring (8/14/16)
Friend of mine that lives off Stony Creek just went and checked the Bayou, said it is getting really close to flooding. He is bailing out as the water level in the road has raised a little recently.

This is absolutely consistent with backwater flooding which is now occurring on Fountain.

Currently, Backwater flooding is working its way up. It has not made it's way completely to the Lee/Highland area yet, but it's heading that way.

If anyone has Ward Creek readings or visual, let me know.

Pictures.

Here is video of water flowing at I-12 East onramp at ONeal. Can anyone say if this is good or bad? It looks to be flowing back where it came from.

This is right under where your red and blue arrows collide, probably up 10 inches at least since mid early morning

I got some friends at Highland and Lee, will they be okay or do they need to leave?

I'm catching up slowly, but I imagine this depends on where. The neighborhood here has extremely high points and extremely low points. Our address is in the 40s as far as elevation goes, but I know I go really far down when I run and I'm sure their elevation is far lower.

Let me know if your friends needs help.

Cal is a key spot. Easy to see if crest of Amite/Claycut Bayou has made it that far south.
