If you're a white rap group, you've got a lot of fricking nerve accusing someone of stealing your style.

Die Antwoord accuse Suicide Squad of stealing their style

It's a film where i could not find fault with any individual performances, except the director and editor.

I just went see Suicide Squad and I think the reviews are way off. It's no masterpiece and not nearly on the level of Civil War or Deadpool, but it's an enjoyable flick for what it is. I read through this and didn't get some of the comments. This one felt like a much better flow than BvS which was just a disjointed set of scenes until the 3rd act. SS at least got an intro, backstory on the characters throughout, and gave you a reason to root for them.

That said, I think it was a little ambitious to introduce all these new characters to the movie audience at once. Some seemed to have potential but were just filler while others were fleshed out more. I didn't think any performance was terrible, but some were just there.

Deadshot was decent but basically just Will Smith. I really liked Leto's Joker and feel that one will be a huge hit for years to come. People will complain he wasn't seen enough, but this movie was never about him and he was a presence throughout, so I'm fine with that. Margot Robbie stole the show as Harley imo. I've been wanting that character on the big screen for years and she delivered. I'm interested to see where they go with her and the dynamic with Joker vs Suicide Squad.

I think this one will be successful enough financially to warrant a sequel and start a franchise. The end credits lead me to believe we could get a Justice League vs Suicide Squad movie down the line once both teams are established more which would be cool to see if the latter could add a couple superpowered members.

Overall, I'd say 6/10. Not great, but much better than critics would have you believe.

Finally got to watch this. It may be me but I didn't think it was that bad. It certainly is not as bad as some people have stated. There was some parts I hated but others were pretty good.

The Bad:
The music. It was just thrown in there at times just to play on the mood. It really distracted from the movie. Some parts really seemed to be a music video rather than part of a movie. I enjoyed the songs, had a great sound track, but it just wasn't incorporated into the movie as well as it should have.

Slipknot. You knew he would die when they just randomly tossed him in. They never made him feel like part of the team. I get his death was just to show the bombs were legit but it certainly was another wasted part of the movie.

The Joker. Ok so I hated the look but loved the mannerisms. My complaint lies in the fact that the Joker/Harley subplot was a nonfactor for the movie. It actually made me wonder why Harley even helped at the end considering everything she did was for the Joker and here is the Enchantress promising to bring back the Joker and she doesn't take it. It looked like it had so much promise and given that Leto was given second billing, his screen timel being cut back is a big negative.

The final battle. It was just bad. The Enchantress seemed cool when she changed into her dirty witch form to fight but all the Squad members just seemed to lack any real cool moments.

Nitpicking:
The format. This movie is a prime example of why you can't make a movie about multiple people without any prior set up and expect the audience to care about each one. I literally learned I should care about Diablo about five minutes before he sacrificed himself for the team. They banked on the bar scene to make us connect to the characters right before the end fight.

Deadshot. I really enjoyed Will Smith. But if he wasn't playing Deadshot, would the character have been featured so much? He was basically the leader of the team instead of Flagg. It also seemed weird that all these villains just followed him so easily and that despite being a villain himself, Deadshot always came off more as a reluctant hero than a villain forced against his will.

The "machine". It has been discussed before but they were way too vague on what the ultimate weapon was. It pretty much just seemed to be a large beam that destroyed other tech than anything else. I understood that it used Waller to pinpoint important bases to attack and that it was powerful enough to destroy them. It just seemed like they left everything else half planned.

The Avengers problem. We comment on it in Marvel movies. There is a big tower of light destroying a machine city. No Batman? No Flash? No Wonder Woman? That thing should have been a homing beacon for capes. The rescue Waller mission was perfect for the Squad. The heroes arent going to bother with that. The big tower of light? Yeah that might merit a Bat Signal.

The Good:
Popcorn flick. For some people here this is a dirty word but thia movie was a great popcorn flick. I feel it was better than BvS or X-Men in that regards. It was a fun movie. There were some really cool stuff in there. Yeah it is disappointing that it seems like WB took a great movie and editted it to shite, but enough of the original vision was there.

The actors/actresses. As pointed out before, everyone did a great job. I was annoyed that Margot(sp?) seemed to forget her accent every few scenes, but it wasn't bad enough to ruin it for me. She did a great job. Even June Moon did a good job showing just how afraid she was of her powers.

The cameos. I love the DC universe so it was cool getting to see Batman and the Flash even if it was a limited role.

Waller. Man was she good. I don't think she is getting enough praise. Hollywood wants strong black female characters and here is one that isn't pandoring in the least bit. She showed almost no fear in dealing with the Squad and they seemed legit scared of her. You almost felt like she could have handled herself around them even if they didn't have the bombs. She was the real bad guy and even that is a grey area considering everything she did was for the good of her country. She never crossed into cartoony villain that thinking they are doing the right thing even though it is clearly not. She was just very cold and decisive with her actions. Even Flagg brushed off her killing the FBI agents simply because they were not cleared for the info. It seemed more matter of fact protocal than super villainly. I enjoyed it.

All in all the movie is enjoyable and worth the time. It was not the hot mess of BvS, though WB certainly seemed to try. I see a lot of 5 or 6 out of 10 but I will go 7 out of 10. Not the best comic book movie this year, but I would go see it again and I hope they get a sequel.

Solid review. The pacing was bad for me though. You can really tell that DC is scrambling to play catch up to Marvel. Snyder isn't the guy to get the job done imo.

The actors playing the Suicide Squad were good. Movie itself seemed all over the place.

Absolutely. As posted above, marvel spent time setting the characters up. DC is playing catch up with Snyder at the helm.

Do you really think that Snyder was the problem with Suicide Squad?

They should've had a Deadpool movie and a Harley Quinn movie before doing a Suicide Squad movie?

It was entertaining enough.

Choppy, uneven pace detracted from the movie overall.

There were too many mouths to feed when it came to getting stars screen time. Jared Leto suffered as a result.

I do not think he is the only problem, just a big part of it.

Has no one mentioned the prison being in Terrebonne Parish? Nice little surprise, thought it was pretty cool.

Saw it last night.
it wasn't bad.
The music started off great. But then the last thirty the music didn't fit.
I absolutely hated the "minion" soldiers. Their dumb faces made zero sense. But deadshot wiping them out was legit.
I didn't mind joker. It was a very different take but this joker is very dangerous. Extremely hot and cold. He even hesitated in saving Harley. I'm willing to bet the majority of backstory that was left out was him and the bat. This joker will definitely not hesitate to endanger and kill innocent civilians to get to batman. HL's joker gave civilians an out Jared Leto's will just kill.
The other squad members were ok. Harley was well done. Diablo and boomerang were fine. I loved the way killer croc looked but him saying "shawty" and stupid lines like that ruined him.
And Flagg was just bad. I don't blame the actor. I just think it should have been a more intimidating person with better writing

#1 again this weekend but it was a horribly slow weekend at the theaters. I'm sure that the weather on the gulf coast didn't help.

The opening Waller scene introducing the members was terrible imo. Like talking while you eat a steak I'm sure has some sort of artistic meaning, but it's fricking disgusting and distracting when you're smacking your food like a mongoloid and trying to give serious dialogue.

I think it just has to get over 600 mil and it'll be fine. It's at 470 now.

Sorry, were we not supposed to say things we didn't like about the movie anymore? Didn't get the memo

Her mouth smacking deserves an Oscar for sound effects, is that better?
