I just wanted to point out that all three chicks that were a part of that news story were hot. Is that how all news anchors/reporters in Miami look?

This absolutely looks to be a massive screw up by the police.
That being said,'linking this to race and/or (even worse) saying this is the same thing as shooting Alton Sterling when he is pulling a gun on two officers is asinine.
They need to be protesting that the PD isn't making a statement and handling this. Not defending some multi felon who was armed and trying to kill two cops.

The cop needs to lose his job and go to jail. There is justice that can actually be had in this case.

They got a call that someone had a gun and was threatening suicide...so coming in with drawn guns makes some sense.
What were they going to do? Were they saying "if you try to shoot yourself we will shoot you first"?

stifling it in today's social media age would do more harm than good.

It's not like people who have committed suicide in the past haven't taken some people with them in the process at times. Especially suicide by cop. I'd say you'd have to be prepared for that in the assumption of a suicidal person in a public area.
Coming in with their guns drawn shouldn't really be an issue here if that's how it was called in. The shooting is unjustified, but that approach is not.

How are we this deep in this thread and no one has pointed out the 3 reporters?

I think that if someone thought they saw a guy with a gun then they should call. If they turn out to be wrong then there shouldn't be a problem.
Isn't that exactly what we are told to do? See suspicious behavior and call the police. People shouldn't get in trouble for being wrong. The police should respond and control their weapons.
This isn't the same as those set ups to kill cops.

Is anyone saying this about Sterling? He was shot because of the risk.. not because he was trying to kill the officers

This one is bad. REALLY bad.
Physical therapist, from an assisted living facility, trying to help an escaped autistic guy calm down, gets shot with his hands sticking in the air while explaining exactly who he was and what he was doing to the cops.
He was very clearly explaining it was a toy truck in the kids' hands and saying he has autism.
Was this an accidental discharge? That's the only semi-logical explanation.

The silver lining is - this was a good guy and he lived.
I hope it illustrates a literally insane policy that many departments cannot seem to get a handle on (I'm not even blaming the cops, they're in a no win situation). The whole "suicide" call. First of all, if the person is "threatening" suicide and not doing it, in most cases they're either not serious or not 100% committed to the attempt, particularly males with firearms.
Second, what happens in a lot of cases is that cops show up, you know, to stop the guy from hurting himself, and end up killing him to keep him from killing himself. That's literally insane.

I doubt there are riots that stem from this one...but, this one is pretty fricked up. I support our law enforcement 100%, but this was just dumb. People make mistakes, but incompetence is no excuse when it comes to the responsibilities of that job.

Chicas are fine, especially from South America and the Caribbean. And ugly white chicks don't move there, otherwise they don't get hit on until 3 am.
