Rumor debunked... they don't have the $$$$$

this is not a rumor, this was in the paper yesterday
The Advertiser link from 7/21/16

The LHSAA executive committee will vote to buy out the contract of Executive Director Eddie Bonine at its July 25 special session meeting, four sources familiar with the situation confirmed to The Daily Advertiser. The LHSAA sent an email Tuesday scheduling the special session.
A buyout would have to be approved by a majority of the LHSAA Executive Committee in a vote Monday. There are 25 members of the LHSAA's executive committee; only a simple majority is needed to approve the buyout.
While sources confirmed the desire for a buyout vote to take place Monday, it is not clear if the faction attempting to complete the buyout has enough votes to complete the process.
Bonine was introduced in December 2014 as the LHSAA's executive director and signed a four-year contract with the association. If Bonine is indeed bought out Monday, he will become the second executive director ousted by the LHSAA in the past two years following the early departure of former Executive Director Kenny Henderson.
The removal of Henderson was "mutually agreed" upon by the two parties. The LHSAA had to pay out the remaining dollars left on Henderson's contract. Frustration with Bonine has been building within the state over his handling of the select/non-select split.
Many of the principals in favor of the split have expressed concern that Bonine has opposed the split, rather than doing the bidding of the general assembly.
Bonine declared the split unconstitutional before the January principal's meeting, only to watch the principals of the state deepen the split to include basketball, baseball and softball, as well as football, in the general assembly vote in January.

Uhhh wtf do you want him to do? He tried every trick in the book to keep this shite from happening after he was handed a clusterfrick.

Thats because he is charged with fixing this shite show and anyone with half a brain is against the split.

Buyout is allegedly around $500k

LHSAA has that in their pockets right now?

They are going to pay it in installments using the gate money from Baton Rouge public school football games. They should be finished sometime in 2146.

They supposedly can't afford it.

when the schools with the most resources sent JC and ECA down to 1a and 2a in 2004 to have the schools with lesser resources deal with them.....
yep.. trust is an issue./

Really dont understand what the board/schools think they will accomplish by forcing him out. Literally no one outside of the state or anyone that disagrees with the split will want to take this position.

Would be interested to hear the context surrounding this one.
Does anyone remember what the exact numbers and % breakout were from the last vote?
