Pg- holiday
Sg- heild
Sf- hill/qpon
Pf-davis
C-asik
Pg-evans
Sg-Moore
Sf-hill/qpon
Pf-jones
C- ajinca
Galloway, Diallo, frazier sprinkled in. I know it seems fairly obvious but I like this 2ND year gentry squad. Allows Evans, when healthy, to be his ball dominant self to run the 2nd and gives diallo time to coordinate himself. Key is which new guy will become MORE than what they've been prior. I see a 5-8 seed team as long as that bug don't bite us again. This may have already been told but I want to give my opinion. Tell me what u Think. I see meaningful basketball this season! I'd like to see something from heild before he's thrown in as a starter.

Agreed. I don't think he starts. If he does he will be the first sub out.

This dude is going to be buried in the depth chart, unless it's to showcase for a trade.

First, I don't think Reke is going to be healthy until, like, November or December.
And if he plays, it'll be a 10-20 game showcase for a trade, IMO.

I think he needs to start, as to not be the focus of the defense when he comes into the game. He can play the Eric Gordon role in the starting lineup, until he starts to get the feel for the game. If he comes in with the bench unit he may try to do too much and encounter issues because he will be the focus of the defense if he's not out there with Jrue and AD.

I think he will start eventually. Maybe they will throw him in. I don't know. I can see them starting with Moore so that the defense is solid early, and then sub him in to play some with the starters and then some with the backups. I don't know.

At no point will Tyreke be far down the depth chart. He's too talented. Gentry said it himself yesterday at pels d-league game. As much as many ppl don't like him in genrty's system....he's still a 12 6 5 guy...at his worst

OP
Does not look like a 5 or 6 seed yet.
Buddy may not be consistent.
Healing still to come for would be starter.
If all goes well
Will compete for 7/8 seed.
There is motion from the floor to move to east, then you are looking at competing for a first round home game to open playoffs.
As things stand, there will be spirited competition for the last few playoff slots in the west.
Team needs buddy to be real deal out of the gate, plus chemistry integrating diallo and how buddy deals with sometimes not starting. Way too much up in the air to think 5/6 are real.

Looks pretty good except I think Moore starts and Ajincia would be used only sparingly and primarily against "big" teams. I think Diallo will start stealing a lot of mins from AA as the season goes on.

With Evans out and hield shouldn't be a starter until midway since Moore is a better defender, I'd say it's more of
PG: holiday/galloway/frazier
SG: moore/hield
SF: hill/qpon/cunningham
PF: davis/jones/diallo
C: asik/ajinca

I honestly don't know what the lineup will be like, and i don't think it really matters early on b/c we will be testing out a lot of things.
I don't know where Reke fits, if he's playing. I'd guess he's going to be running the second team, and i'm going to assume he isn't with the team after the allstar break.
I think Hield would be better off playing with the starters if you want to ease him in and not have so much attention on him. But if you want to throw him in the fire, then let him play with the second unit where he'll be asked to do more and get more attention.
We can say whatever the starters and second string are, but the most important lineup is the closing lineup, and i have no idea what that's going to be.
Jrue
?
?
Hill, if he's what we expect
AD
I think Galloway has a chance to be in that lineup b/c of his elite defense and he hit some big shots last year late in games. He and Jrue can guard any PG/SG combo out there at a very high level.
I think for the most part we will be testing it out the first part of the year between Moore/Hield/QPon/Galloway for those 2 spots, and i'd give the edge to Galloway and Qpon early on, and expect it to be Galloway and Hield by the end of the season, assuming Hield can show he can play good defense on the bigger SG's in the league.

I'm having trouble getting past Holiday as the lone creator. Despite bringing in all these guards, I think we'll see a decent amount of Frazier/Holiday. They may start out trying a rotation like you listed, but unless the defense is good enough to win games on its own I think Frazier may jump up the depth chart and shift Jrue over to some SG minutes.

You guys really think Frazier is going to play if there aren't injuries?
If Reke is healthy, I don't see how Frazier sees the court.
Even if Reke is gone, you want to move Jrue to SG and play Frazier and take minutes from Moore/Hield/Galloway?
Frazier is an above average D-League player that can only guard the PG position, and he does that below average. I thought he did well last year, but we sucked, and had no depth. We seem to have a lot of depth at the PG/SG postion with Jrue/Galloway/Moore/Hield/QPon. Those guys aren't fringe D-League players like Frazier, and i don't see Frazier taking minutes from them unless there are injuries.

I feel like we've paid too much money to Galloway and Moore for them not to play. And they are going to have to play Hield.
But I do think Frazier has some use in getting the offense going/creating.

Hield should start in my opinion. Not because he is the best or the most ready. I just think he would be way more productive with the defense focusing on AD and Jrue. He would get open looks and stretch the defense.

I feel like he's definitely pegged as the 5th guard. Why would they pay Galloway 6 mil to be the 5th guard? Of the new guards in the rotation, (Hield, Moore, Galloway, and Frazier) Frazier was valued the lowest (based upon pay). He may play himself out of the 5th guard spot, but I don't think he starts out any higher than that at the beginning of the season.

If Reke is healthy,
The general consensus amongst the bloggers/journalists with sources is that his knee is pretty bad, he won't be playing for a while, and if he does play once he gets healthy it likely will be as a showcase for trading him.

Unless we unleash a top 5ish defense the trade off to the offense might not be worth it. Maybe in a different role with more responsibility initiating the offense they'll do better but here are career Per 36 Assist numbers:
Frazier 8.2
Galloway 3.7
Moore 3.3
You don't think there will be a problem going from Jrue to a combo guard? We've had enough bad backup guards over the years to see what happens to the offense when you put it in the hands of people that aren't proficient at running an offense.
career Per 36 Assist numbers:
Jimmer Freddette 3.7
Austin Rivers 3.4
I don't see why more people don't see it. Maybe they're more famililar with Moore and Galloway than I am and think either can be more of a facilitator than they've been in the past, but that defense better be nasty if the offense is going to be ugly and ineffective.
Posted on 7/15/16 at 10:48 am to TigerinATL
They can be decent facilitators in spurts, similar to Gordon. The difference is they can shoot better than rivers and can play defense.

How is that supposed to sway me? Gordon had one good facilitator move, penetrate and pocket pass to Asik. That's it. Everything else he did besides spot up shooting was a train wreck.
