I take Shawn Michaels all day long.

If the category was "Greatest In-Ring Performer," it would take me about 0.0000002 seconds to say Michaels. He had great matches with guys of all shapes and sizes.

Austin was actually a great worker. But due to injuries(especially after the neck injury against Hart), he had to evolve into more of a brawler.

Cena receives a lot of unfair hate. But from a technical wrestling standpoint, he can't touch even a broken down Austin.

That is a fair point.

Stone Cold is GOAT. Better than Hogan, Flair, Rock etc. Some of the pops he got back in the day were unparalleled.

It's silly to call someone the greatest of all time when we haven't seen all of the old timers (and of course that whole issue of the outcomes being predetermined). But for me Cena is not top five in the ring or on the mic.

Flair would be my #1 based on both, with maybe HBK #2.

Hogan, stone cold and the rock were the biggest icons. Rock was pretty good in the ring, but the other two were not.

My personal favorites are Flair, Mick Foley, and stone cold.

And I never saw guys like Bruno sanmartino, buddy rodgers, lou thesz, etc.

It really matters what kind of criteria you want to use.

If you want the greatest technical wrestler then I'm sure there are lots of answers there and I don't really watch wrestling for the technical wrestling aspects so I'm not the best qualified to answer that question.

If it's about who can tell the greatest story during a match, I am not sure but I would go with Ric Flair.

If you want to go with who was the biggest draw for the longest time during the era when wrestling was at its peak, popularity-wise, then you'd have to go with SCSA.

Cena definitely has an argument for being the top draw the past 10-15 years, though.

So glad I grew up in the Stone Cold era. That dude was the GOAT, no doubt.

Cena has yet to make a heel turn

This is a legit argument. A big part of being a wrestler is acting. If you are only good at one facet of that part, how are you the goat? There are other wrestlers with not identical, but impressive belt statistics who mastered every part of controlling their character. The rock, SCSA, and BORK LESNAR immediatly come to mind.

Hulk Hogan transitioned from being the biggest face in the business to the biggest heel in the business, and he did it flawlessly. You can't be the goat if you can only be typecasted into one role in a sport or genre where there are tons of other people who don't have that glaring weakness.

Cena will never turn unless it's the very end of his career, or he's becomes a part-timer. He makes too much money for them from merchandise sales, and is the unquestionable face of the company. Not to mention all the Make-A-Wish stuff he does. Hard to see him continue that if he's some savage bad guy.

The greatest wrestlers are the guys Vince doesn't appreciate. The Lucha Libre style wrestlers.

Vince just wants roided up giants. He would take Kevin Nash over prime RVD or Sabu

They haven't turned Cena because they haven't had a dependable #1 in his prime in the last 10 years other than Cena. The only possibilities were Punk, who was unstable, and Bryan, who was injured and had to retire early.
It's much harder to play face than heel.

Wrestling purists are gonna say flair.

Hogan is probably the most important wrestler ever as he was an absolute icon in the 80s and transitioned wrestling from regional to global, also solidified the wwf

Millienials are gonna say stone cold

The Rock is by far the best crossover star

Shawn Michaels and Bret hart have to get some consideration, as does the undertaker

LMAO

Goldberg is kinda lame. Sting was way cooler than him in WCW

Overall, there will likely never be anyone more entertaining than the Texas rattlesnake. The rock would be right behind him.
