Police risk their lives every day to protect us. If 7 wants to support a guy who wouldn't cooperate with them, then he will get criticism.

LSU and football wouldn't be able to exist without police. I think police should boycott any event where they don't think the ppl don't have their back.

I am white. I am conservative.

My brother is a cop.

What those cops did was excessive, resulted in the loss of someone's life and thus a homicide.

Any LSU fan faulting the greatest Tiger RB ever for speaking truth to power when the video is clear is either racist or so blinded by an agenda they will risk losing their credibility to promote it.

Most cops are not racist. Most cops are good people who protect us. But these guys committed a crime and the result was another human's death. The morality of this really cannot be seriously debated.

I am proud of Fournette.

Good to know you are omniscient before an investigation is complete.

I don't care what the guy did. He didn't deserve to die. He should have been arrested, arraigned and tried for his crimes and served an appropriate punishment.

He did not deserve to be shot while pinned down. It was excessive and if you can't see that have mercy on your soul.

Remember when EVERYONE knew about the Will Smith facts in the shooting a few days out......Until all the evidence started to emerge.

So you think those cops were justified shooting a man in their custody 5 times and causing him to die. Do you have eyes. Do you see the video. Imagine that's your brother or son. For gods sake.

The death of reason, folks. It's a real thing. People placing emotion over The Rule of Law and calling out people they don't know and assigning attributes to them. Whatever happened to gathering evidence, hearing testimony, looking for the truth of a thing? It's the tyranny of The Narrative. Everybody grabs a narrative and runs with it, truth and facts be damned.

With just the two videos it looks bad but I want to hear what the officers have to say as well as see the store video , anything the body cameras might have caught and hear the 911 call. These cops were told by dispatch he had brandished a gun and threatened someone with it. Sterling was committing a federal felony in selling bootleg tapes while holding an illegal weapon. Thats a lot going on for me to make a 48 hour conclusion.

I saw it differently. Reasonable people disagree. Fortunately we have a mechanism for these kinds of disagreements. It's called THE RULE OF LAW. Instead of calling people you don't know "racist" like you are all out of rational ideas, just let the Rule of Law run it's course. Or prepare for endless bloodshed and social anarchy.

Show me evidence that when he was executed he was brandishing a gun. Show it to me. I'm not defending Sterling's life choices. I am defending his right to not be shot five times in police custody. He was on the ground with two cops on him. They didn't have to shoot him. They didn't have to do it but they did. It's all there. Nothing else matters. That he is a thug or a criminal, none of it matters. NO ONE deserves to be executed by the police when they are in their custody.

Absolutely, but the shooter was pushed by forces that decided an investigation was not necessary.

You have a problem with comprehension? With what I see the cops look in the wrong. But I am going to give a cop the benefit of my doubt until I get their side and see ALL of the available evidence.

The law is that killing another human being is homicide. There are various degrees of it and they have different punishments based on the intent and mitigating circumstances. Everything you want to investigate and get all of the evidence on is the noise surrounding this that determines what degree of murder this was or whether it was manslaughter and what the punishment should be. But we all watched a video of a defenseless man shot five times while pinned down by cops. There is not much to argue about in terms of whether this was a criminal act.

See my earlier post. I am willing to hear the cops' rationale and see if it means a lesser charge. But the video shows the following facts:

The victim was on his back
The victim was held down by police
The victim was shot 5 times at close range
The victim died as a result.

It's a crime. Now we are just waiting to see if there are mitigating facts to not call it first degree murder.

You should quickly call the DA's office and let them know that you have all the facts, have investigated this fully, and are ready to pass judgement on the "defendants" sans trial in the morning. Also maybe as a courtesy you could let The Supreme Court know that you are putting The Bill of Rights out of it's misery and are just doing the whole thing yourself as a public service. Ready, shoot, aim. Sounds like a plan.

I'm a white retired prosecutor, who spent most of my career defending and supporting actions of law enforcement officers, and while all the facts aren't in, I have say Bravo to you ROPO, and to you as well LF7.

Hey ROPO...it also shows a felon with an illegal weapon who was not cooperating with authority at all...I also hear the 3 minutes prior on the store video are eye opening as to this felons behavior...how come you don't discuss these "facts"???
You think the cops weren't scared during all that, and you think they wanted to go home to their families in one piece that night? "Facts"
Oh, and don't forget, Alton was a sex offender as well....great guy. "Facts"...
