He can only be called a former criminal because he is now dead. He was actively committing crimes (plural) when he was fatally shot.

He just was arrested in June on drug charges. Still totally a criminal.

That's if you think drugs make you a criminal. Unless he was selling to kids, I think it's ridiculous a consenting adult can't do what he wants in his own home as long as he's not harming another person.

Has it been determined how he was be able to obtain a gun or did the cops plant it?

Dude was arrested on average of once per year for 20 years. Some skips but with multiple arrests in subsequent years that average out, also don't know when he was in prison but I'm guessing between 01-05 and 09-15 BECAUSE THAT WAS THE ONLY TIME PERIODS THAT THE MUTHAfrickA WASN'T GETTING ARRESTED.

Think about that for a second.

Possession of drugs does make you a criminal. Last I checked they are still illegal here in Louisiana. Just because you think it's a bullshite law doesn't make it any less of a law.

I think it's bullshite and extortion that we have to buy hunting and fishing licenses every year, but guess what, I still buy those bastards so that I'm not a criminal in the eyes of the law.

Let's all just be real honest. If he was white, more restraint would've been shown in deciding whether or not to use lethal force

Let's just be honest, that's probably because it would have been less confrontational to begin with.

You couldn't pay me enough $ to be a cop in today's society.

He shouldn't have been armed. You do know the cops shoot more whites on an annual basis than blacks.

No I get it. But I'm not about to write a person off as a horrible person just because they've done drugs. To lump them all together is ridiculous. There's obviously shades of gray.

I did some research to see if I could sympathize or empathize with Mr. Sterling.

Here's my schedule in comparison:

9/09/96 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
10/31/97 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
1/06/98 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
5/04/00 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
9/20/00 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
9/04/01 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
5/24/05 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
7/11/05 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
9/12/05 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
3/17/06 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
4/12/06 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
6/03/09 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
10/12/09 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
8/13/15 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
4/08/16 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes
6/14/16 went to work, obeyed the law, took care of my family & paid taxes

Nope, I got nothing for him.

Are we going to lose sleep over the loss of this role model? He's obviously contributed a lot of positivity to his community and society. I'd love for him to coach my son's t-ball team, or lead their youth group, or be a mentor to the local Baton Rouge big brothers and big sisters program.

I don't really give a shite about that. Look at his record. Alton could be named Jim-Bob and he could have a mullet with a Facebook description of "Southern born and raised. Damn proud of it. Love you Dale Earnhardt and The South shall rise again!"

If Jim Bob had a comparable record to Alton's:

My daughter is 11. In 2 years if some 21 year old takes advantage of her, while he may not deserve an immediate death sentence, I'll surely not be attending any rallies if he were to pass on early.
