Edit: but the color does look a bit off for a rat snake.

I'm no snake expert, but I'm almost positive that you have to look at the head to see if it's pointy or round. You need to take a pic of its head

That snake's venom is so potent that you can't even inhale it's smell. A drop will kill a small animal or short man in seconds.

Poke it with a stick to make it open its mouth. If the inside is white, it's a cottonmouth.

The OT is full of expert fighters and the toughest badasses anywhere but post a pic of a harmless rat snake and the ninnies come out in force. I don't understand. You can see it's not a venomous snake, so why freak out?
