Unless he's transferring home to university of Chicago, I'm not sure how a blood disorder causes a kid to pursue another school for baseball.

Is it a given he's transferring right away?

I understand he's leaving the program.

Perhaps he has health concerns to deal with?

Maybe eventually he will play again elsewhere, but now is not the time?

But if it was Johnny Jones, you'd play your little heart out.

You're so transparent.

The last time we won the CWS we dodn't have three solid starters. Austin Ross was the third starter. He was serviceable but not a guy we could count on.

From someone who knows wtf is actually going on:

quote:

Classic case of "I think I'm ready" but there's people looking out for your best interest so they don't recklessly throw you out there without thinking you're 100%. He should have taken the advice last year to just have the surgery instead of being a 19 year old know it all. Mainieri, Dunn, Couture would never sit a guy when he was ready to pitch, especially someone so talented.

Keep running your mouth when you don't know shite Darryl... You're a damn racist moron

Him backing Jones was fine when he talking about how he's performed in the SEC, his recruiting, etc. a majority disagreed, but he's entitled to his opinion.

But as soon as he dropped the "people want him gone because he is black" he lost all credibility and deserves all the insults he receives.

You have no clue. You should be a sports announcer.

Idk which of my comments you are replying to, but everything I've said is factual. Mainieri said tonight that he was "going to continue playing at ANOTHER SCHOOL" I said short of going home and playing, I don't see how a blood disorder would be different here than say at TCU or UCLA.

I usually don't get worked up over lsu telling kids to go somewhere else or kids deciding to leave on their own.

This one rubs me the wrong way though. If Latz disagrees with how his treatment was administered while here maybe he'd be willing to reimburse lsu for his surgeries.

another thought, if he had a blood disorder that's keeping him from playing, maybe he should focus on his health and put baseball on the back burner. I hope whatever is ailing him gets better, he has a bright future. Best of luck to him.

didn't know about a blood disorder. I probably shouldn't comment too strongly since it seems like I really don't know the facts.

but on the surface this one stinks.

Good point then.

If so he's just leaving because he disagrees with how they have handled him.. But I trust LSU's side when it comes to injury rehab and protecting health. That's just a feeling though.

Thanks to Latz for committing to LSU. Hope he finds healthiness and successs moving forward.

Glad he's doing this sooner rather than later. Maybe this can help lure Poche back

Trust me, Jake staying or going has absolutely no bearing on whether Poche returns next year.

Three pages back someone made mention of a blood disorder. I have heard nothing of the sort, but when I talked to my friend this morning he told me about the whole "I'm healthy" "no you're not" issue with him and the training staff and coaches dating back 2 years. Either way it's a tough loss, I hope he gets better if he does indeed have an illness, but something would still be causing him to leave LSU to play elsewhere, so I trust my information, as they were there through every step of the process since Jake arrived on campus. I bet Andy and Dunn are now looking at JUCO LHP as we speak, though. Can't go through a season with 1 LHP in the pen being a true freshman!

this is so stupid. How do you not realize your coaches want what's best for you?

You're pretty close to the baseball team. What's happening with Latz and how do you see the staff shaping up for '17? If Poche returns, that would give us 2 top-shelf starters. Newman proved to be a solid closer. Then . . . just question marks.

Lange will be Lange

Gilbert should make a huge leap after a year in the program, his 2 seam will get better.

One of McKay, Hess, Peterson is going to need to step up and give LSU 70 innings of quality ball.

Bain, Newman, and Reynolds are all 3 plus relievers.

That's not including Poche who could still factor into the final equation.

Latz was nicknamed the unicorn in our household at the beginning of the year. Rarely seen and with much fanfare as to it's greatness. Obviously, the mystery of the unicorn will continue.
